I’d never even heard of a pangolin until yesterday when I watched the pandemic special South Park. Things...happened...
the pangolin is a shy mammal. most traffic animal - for their scales. people seem to think they can cure illness, but no scientific evidence to back it up.

makes me sad that these animals are driven to the brink of extinction.
there is no known therapeutic value considering the scales is made up of keratin like our nails/hair. doesn't make sense to me.

It should be known that they are endangered and that they are the world's highest trafficked animal.
this species, black-bellied pangolin along with Temminck’s ground pangolin are listed as Vulnerable while most of its other relatives 3 of which are listed as Endangered (2 African:Giant ground & White-bellied Pangolin + 1 Asian: Indian Pangolin) & 3 Critically Endangered (all Asian Species: Chinese, Philippine & Sunda Pangolins).

Do you have a source re: the number of vertebra because I do not believe that at face value. Fair warning: I also do not know how many cats have but I _do_ know that number is ridiculous if you were comparing them to humans. (source: I've worked in spinal surgeries for over a decade)
