That was amazing! And I remember that one assignment (it was a part of M1911 S-TAC assignment) - you had to destory enemy IFV with your airdropped IFV. That wasn't easy, took me some time to do, but it was worth it.
I loved BF3, and I have to look at this post with some sort of amusement and context.
When BF3 first launched, so many people trashed it. YES the beta had tons of bugs and that did suck, but even with those fixed "It wasn't like BF2", "they made BF3 for casuals", so on and so forth.
Just goes to show that "in the moment" hate of new games tend to subside to long-term praise for the game, if a game TRULY was great, and I truly believe that BF3 was.
Speaking of vehicle drops, I just think commander mode needs to return outright. Put the commander mode on tablets again, but also add smartphones and also a free PC client.
Same here, Titan mode was incredible. Planetside 2 has a similar feel to 2142 in terms of vehicles and weapons, the gameplay is on a much more massive scale though, worth checking out if you haven't played it before.
I had 237,000 kills and 103 million points on BF3 pub servers and another ~10,000 kills in comp matches.
Yeah, I'd say it was a pretty good game
https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/Dr_Stev0/stats/233555184/pc/
I started playing again, so I bought it for one of my friends so he could play with me. Hearing all his reactions to everything makes me so jealous. I wish I could experience this game for the first time again.
Wow, I've never seen this before. Never knew it was a thing. Amazing. I really wish they kept some of the more cinematic stuff like this in more recent titles. I also miss having to take off from the ground with planes
It would be really cool if this is how you spawned in vehicles in BF6, that way they can keep map spawns off the map like in 1 and V but add a cool aspect of in map engagement.

This server is still active with 4 DLC (Close Quater Exclude) and there's still a plenty of people playing it
Hopefully with much improved physics this time. Even in BFV the vehicle physics in the engine haven't really changed too much and it's been like this since BFBC2.
What is the name of that mode that you basically start with a pistol and find guns around the map?
I think the "story" is that after a big explosion everything is destroyed or something...
Scavenge,Part of the "Aftermath" DLC
the backstory is there's an earthquake in Tehran,Iran
and both USMC and RU have to fight in the post-earthquake environment
How This Work ?
you have to capture specific capture point that have AC-130 icon on the point
and if you capture it,your team have ability to dropship an IFV and parachute from the plane
BF3 was **THE** Battlefield for me. It had everything, maps, guns, gamemodes, vehicles, custom servers, and imo the best gameplay in the series. I remember my squad joining servers and our team being trapped with a decent point deficit. But my friends and I would play together, we'd break out of the spawn trap, get as deep behind enemy lines as possible, and then try to cap an objective. We'd either cap and our team would spawn from there or the enemies would retreat to stop us but in the process release the spawn trap. Good times.
I remember when Close Quarters dropped. Insanity. This is my most unpopular opinion but I personally found close quarters to be the most enjoyable DLC of the series. The maps were infantry only, but were crafted in such a way that the fight was always moving, nothing stagnated. I still think about Ziba Tower from time to time....
Airplanes were ass in BF3, sorry. Helicopters took a massive step back from BF2 as well. All vehicles felt wrong, they had no weight to them.
BF4 inched forward from BF3 in this regard, BF1 had it right for the most part.
BF3 Venom is the best helicopter in the entire series and the most fun to fly because of the smooth flight controls the best 3rd person camera. Only helis that flew poorly were the Kasatka and the pre-buff Havoc. And then those flight models made it into BF4 anyways, because DICE was just that incompetent at the time.
Scouts had a way more interesting minigun in BF3 and were more devastating if you could master the predictive sight. Also no lame ass splash cannon for the ones who couldn't.
BF4 vehicles were a step backward because they added so much dumb shit that ruined the sandbox. Like STAFF, Active/Passive Radar, too much emphasis on heatseekers/guided shells and overly long CM timers. CM timers on BF3 jets definitely deserved a nerf, but not the Scout/Transports. Giving tanks/IFVs/MAA a free infantry finder slot in thermal/IRNV was also stupid too.
BF4's vehicle sandbox is largely terrible. BF3 wasn't perfect, but it was a better baseline.
This DLC was beautiful.
When it dropped I still played on console. It was still perfect.
Playing it at max settings on PC was one of the best experiences I had at the time.
Man I don’t think I’ve ever seen a battlefield map as the one from BF3 where you can parachute to the next objectives. The Peninsula or something.
What a dope map.
I wish more games online would let you jump out of a plane like MOB Airborne did, and BF5’s Operation
Love it, BF3 BF4 and BF1 are such cinematic games. I hope BF6 has that feel, especially the gritty war of BF1 - the arcade style crap of BFV belongs in spinoff series like Hardlines but not main BF titles please!
this was very cinematic
Until the teammate kept driving into him. Classic battlefield :’)
BF3 was the best multiplayer game i have ever played. They had some great maps
I liked BF4's gameplay better, but BF3's maps are the best.
That was amazing! And I remember that one assignment (it was a part of M1911 S-TAC assignment) - you had to destory enemy IFV with your airdropped IFV. That wasn't easy, took me some time to do, but it was worth it.
Apparently,I got the "Fatal Drop" assignment today :)

I think a combination of the BFV squad points system and the BF4 commander mode abilities would be really good. Maybe ditch the cruise missile.
Omfg! I completely forgot this thing in BF3
Holy shit, I've never seen this before. I can't believe they would get rid of something as cool as this
Fun fact: That particular DLC and vehicle was made by Visceral Games who went on to create the controversial Battlefield Hardline.
Battlefield 3 is just brilliant
And here I am still hoping for 2143 to happen in my lifetime.
Same here, Titan mode was incredible. Planetside 2 has a similar feel to 2142 in terms of vehicles and weapons, the gameplay is on a much more massive scale though, worth checking out if you haven't played it before.
I miss this :(
BF3 was the best.
Don’t let Jackfrags see this. He’ll be prompted to make more pointless clickbait videos sucking BF3 off.
And we will swallow his content. It is tradition.
Pls DICE just remaster BF3 or BF4. I don’t trust you like I used to trust you
BF4 was already on last gen consoles with the full player count. It's also compatible with Xbox SX and PS5.
Makes 10x more sense to remaster BC2 or BF3.
BF3 did so many things right. It holds up better than BF4 from feeling outdated
I *strongly* disagree there.
Wait this was a feature? Holy shit can’t wait with what they’re going to do with BF6 then.
It was only in the End Game DLC which was made by Visceral Games (of Dead Space fame), not DICE directly.
Unfortunately EA closed Visceral Games for good after not being happy with their BF: Hardline sales numbers -_-
BF3 was fckin impressive for a game that came out in 2011
I hope so, I haven’t played BF3 but that would be pretty cool with Realistic Graphics, It would be cool to just drop in the middle of a battle tho
Even jumping out of the drop ship as infantry was fun! Looking out that ramp was so cinematic!
Kinda sad they didn't bring back it in battlefield 4, it was really cool
Wtf I played the shit out of bf3 and never saw it, was it a dlc? Back then I was young af and definitely couldn't afford any dlc's 😂
It was part of the "End Game" Add-On by Visceral Games.
Holy fuck this is cool
Didn't even know that was a thing! Awesome!

I've never played battlefield 3 but that is the coolest thing I've seen
That’s got to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen
Wow, I've never seen this before. Never knew it was a thing. Amazing. I really wish they kept some of the more cinematic stuff like this in more recent titles. I also miss having to take off from the ground with planes
Bf3??? I never knew this was a thing
I completely forgot this was a thing. Man bf3 was the bomb.
I'd love to see a level start where the entire team and their vehicles para drop like this then they have to capture their home flag.
It would be really cool if this is how you spawned in vehicles in BF6, that way they can keep map spawns off the map like in 1 and V but add a cool aspect of in map engagement.

WHY DID THEY REMOVE THIS?
Raising Hell one air drop at the time!
Wtf I never knew this was a thing
They have to bring this back its too badass

I’d also like the return of the battlelog. It was actually such a good system.
I put hundreds of hours into BF3 on the 360 and this is the first time I’ve seen this. Is it only on some dlc map?
I’m a sucker for small details so it made me smile when I saw the small cannon recoil after each shot
BF4 being my first battlefield I had no idea this feature even existed in 3. I wish I could’ve experienced BF3 in its prime.
The audio in bf3 is so fucking crisp

That's amazing! I played hundreds of hours back in BF3 time but never saw/experienced that kind of spawn
How in the hell did I play this since release and have no idea that this was a thing you could do....
I have found a hidden gem. Really wany them to bring this one on new BF
Most everything was perfect except for the suppression
This game was the very peak of the series imo
BF3 was **THE** Battlefield for me. It had everything, maps, guns, gamemodes, vehicles, custom servers, and imo the best gameplay in the series. Is it worth to download this game again (it would take me probably two full days to do so)? I play a lot of BF4, BF1 and BFV lately.
Never played much of this game... Didn't know this even existed. Dice has amazing ideas, wish ea would not be ea.
Wait what? Never knew this was a thing
Still play it. Great fun.

Why not re release bf3 but with modern net code and hit reg
Damn I don’t remember this being in the game, would be cool if it was added in bf6
I've never seen this wow..
holy shit i forgot about that. battlefield 3 was a big part of my childhood. endless hours. such a blast holy hell
....er I have 500 hours in BF3 and I've never seen this in my life.
That's the most badass way to enter battle
This DLC was beautiful. When it dropped I still played on console. It was still perfect. Playing it at max settings on PC was one of the best experiences I had at the time.

I hope BF6 bring back the dropship
Holy shit I did not know this was a thing, that's awesoms
God I miss these dynamic equipment deployments
This looks like the visual quality of my BF4 on XB1X.
All max graphics and unlock framrate with my AMD R9 290X DC2 and with Core I7 6700K
Take me back to 2013 man 😩
WTH?! I didn't have the DLC's and have never seen this
Holy crap! This is the first time I have ever seen that—didn’t even know this was in the game. What a badass feature!!
Love it, BF3 BF4 and BF1 are such cinematic games. I hope BF6 has that feel, especially the gritty war of BF1 - the arcade style crap of BFV belongs in spinoff series like Hardlines but not main BF titles please!
Dude this goes so hard!! I didn’t know this was a feature.
APC: "what are you doing step BMP!?" 0w0
