I use 'hello' just like Denholm Reynholm.
We use it for ours too. I once ended up shouting "computer" up the garden at the dog to get her to stop barking and come back inside. It didn't work, but to be fair me calling her name rarely did either.
Have you got the Internet though? The box that contains it, that is
I have it for safekeeping while they repair Big Ben. As soon as you see the scaffolding come down, you know it will be safely returned.
I used to until we binge watched ST:TNG; it pretty soon got changed back to Alexa.
Don't know how many times Bashir from DS9 turned on our lights
Or Scotty from Star Trek
That's Captain Scott to you, laddy.
Do you end up shouting into it like Denham?
Hello computer. Hello. HELLO! HELLO!
Do you say it like "COMP-uter!"
It's how I read it
Or Chris Tarrant when the contestant uses the 50-50 lifeline in Who Wants to be a Millionaire!
This is how my 17yo son says "Mother"
Mother! I've turned the cooling unit back on.
How did you do that? I can't seem to find where to do it, or the Alexa app won't let you do it for non-routine things.
I just had to remind myself. In the Alexa app it's :MORE : SETTINGS : DEVICE SETTINGS.
Find Echo Dot in my case and near the bottom WAKE WORD
I can choose Alexa, Amazon, Computer or Echo but I'd really like to be able to choose my own word. (for evil, but funny, purposes)
I love that show
Now that you mentioned the IT crowd, it reminded me on how i remembered that number..
Just try not to watch too much Star Trek.
