That’s so awesome! I was at the dog park there one snowy day and watched two bald eagles eat a goose on the ice. Made the center of the lake look like a crime scene. It was like watching Fargo with animals.
What's the best vantage point without disturbing the eagles/neighbors? We live not too far from there and we've seen them fly over and I always assumed that's where they are headed, but was not sure how to see them at the reservoir.
they stock the lake, when they drained it years back i went to check it out and there was a ton of trash in there, and for some reason a lot of large dildos. but it was pretty much all cleared out.
Lake arbor had a frequent pair that would sit in the morning, in the middle, on the winter ice.
They were hunting ducks and geese. Geese are practically the ribeye of the sky.
I was at the dog park yesterday there and noticed them. Beautiful eagle. Never knew one was living over at Berkeley. I wonder if they have a nest nearby.
If it's the same one (likely), it's been in the neighborhood for years. I see it all the time. Super cool! I've never seen it fishing in the lake, though.
Used to live in that neighborhood about 5 years ago and I would always see them hunting geese on that lake when it was half frozen over. I remember kicking a goose head one time... Nature you scary
Once, on a cruise from Alaska, our side of the ship saw a bald eagle hunting a smaller bird in mid-air for a few minutes.
You could hear the entire side of the ship getting excited every time the eagle got close... after a few minutes it finally snatched the smaller bird and the everyone on the balconies cheered!
The eagle immediately landed on the water for a few minutes (I assume to drown its prey), and then went on its way.
One of the coolest things we saw on that cruise.
Thanks for sharing this! Amazing! I walk there nearly every day. Had no idea there's a bald eagle around there. As someone mentioned, I've seen one living at Sloans.

A few years ago in the winter I saw a pair of bald eagles 'fishing' at Berkeley lake. It was winter so only the center of the lake was unfrozen and they'd do these diving swoops back and forth over it. Wonder if it's the same birds.

Nice catch! I’ve seen them do this a bunch in Canada and it’s amazing. They can see those fish from 100 yds away in the water. It’s incredible how their sight works.
WOW!!!! thank you for sharing! i have seen a bald eagle maybe 3 times in the past few years living near sloans but never seen this happen! cool video
Awesome sight, Eagle mom just had a baby around Stanley Lake area, so she's getting food for the her baby, but nice video at the right time.
So there are fish in there and I just suck at fishing?
Stop using a pole and just jump right in is the lesson to learn here on fishing.

circa 2015 I watched a bald eagle eat a much smaller black bird on top of a tree behind the rec center right there

There are several bald eagles that hang out by the reservoirs north of rolling hills country club in golden.

Cool catch! I was walking with my son thru, of all places, Cherry Creek and swear I saw one cruising around out there maybe a week or two back.
Word!
"I can show you the world...." ~ That eagle to the fish, probably
Fish from Berkeley Lake? Unfortunately, that bald eagle has three weeks to live. Moment of silence please.......

Awesome! I think I saw a couple eagles at the Arsenal last week.
You should report it to cfwp i think that’s the first bald eagle that has established hunting grounds in the city limits.
There's been a few bald eagles nesting in Washington Park, but I don't know about hunting.
Hell yeah that's amazing!!!
Either same one or another one is regularly at Main Reservoir too as of a few days ago.
Nice camera work!
Nice seagull lol
He’s not that bald, he can still rock a comb over.

Kitty!
That’s the most American thing I’ve ever seen.
[There was a picture of one shredding a Canada goose on Sloans a while back, that definitely takes the cake](https://i.redd.it/juivitvf9n641.jpg)

That eagle is doing better than me. I never catch anything at Berkeley.

nature is so brutal
There’s a huge bald eagle sanctuary in Arvada at Standley Lake, so I see them all the time!
Nice catch! I’ve seen them do this a bunch in Canada and it’s amazing. They can see those fish from 100 yds away in the water. It’s incredible how their sight works.
That is some high quality imagery!
Beautiful! I love seeing eagles. I am blessed to see them occasionally at Chatfield. Great video.
Stanley lake has nests this time of year, probably 5 miles from Berkley
Nice catch! I mean the camera operator!
Awesome! Saw my first bald eagle ever at Sloan's lake a couple months ago.
Freeeeeeeeeeeedom!!!! Awesome video, J\^3!
That eagle wasn’t even bald. He had plenty of feathers
