This is motivating. Talk about will power. Way to go Arnold for creating such an event. I didn’t know it existed. Good stuff!
I now have another strongman event to watch!
>Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Disabled Strongman competition
Arnie, you just keep getting better!
Damn and look at me the lazy fat fuck sitting on his phone and browsing reddit at 1AM
That's rather beautiful to see.
Anyone else worried about it the fingers of the people holding the drums?
Disability?? More like ‘A’bility
For sure, my only gripe with an amazing event.
"Disabled" my ass. He's more abled than I am...
You fucken go, brother!
I was cheering for him as well.
Fair play to him, I get out of breath tying my shoe lace
This is the plan
Get ya ass to mars
Damn, he's still unstoppable, like Hulk after the snap. Legend.
That’s so damn cool
Metal as fuck!
Beast mode activated
Wtf. One arm? Hats off to thr dude
The glove on his other hand seems to be having a good time!
I'm rooting for this guy ! r/HumansAreMetal is the exact purpose for these kind of exploit/achievment .
I love how this is a thing! However, maybe the title could be changed to “ A man with disabilities(or different abilities)competes at Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Iron Man For those with disabilities competition” Recognizing the person before the disability “ people-first language.” I know this seems hippie sounding, But Changing the way society sees those with different abilities is huge speaking as a special education teacher. By the way, this was written on my phone and using Grammarly, All grammar issues you have please take up with Grammarly.
A lot of folks prefer to use identity first language not person first language though.
This is dope as fuck.
Just an FYI, a lot of us try not to use "handicapped" anymore as it comes from a stereotype of disabled people being beggars on the street, holding their hats out for money*. In terms of general PC nomenclature, saying "disabled" or "person living with disability" seems to be preferred. At least that's what they're telling me in my inclusive design class.
I don't really want to police language, but I guess I've gone and written all this out so I'll hit post anyway.
Main takeaway though: This is dope as fuck
EDIT: Obviously 1) say whatever you want. 2) to avoid offending an individual, call them what they want to be called. 3) if you don't know what an individual wants to be called, in this case, "disabled" may be less likely to offend them than "handicapped" because apparently some people really don't like that term
*Some people have said my history is wrong and "Handicapped" instead comes from a game hand-in-cap and handicap racing. This might be true, do your own research if you care. I don't really give a shit anymore. I regret hitting post.
I've never once associated handicap with people begging for money and I grew up in the nineties. Where do people come up with this stuff?
States still use the word handicap on signs for handicap parking.
That is nails.
Holy shit man I don’t know if I have it in me to ever match the requisite level of commitment and sheer force of will it takes to lift those with 2 arms let alone one.
This is truly “Body Positivity” 🤘🙏
And the third one?
Speaking of which why isn’t the guy wearing steel toed shoes? I def would
Is that’s Action Brunson holding the barrel?
Move your hands idiots! He's dropping a fucking heavy ball on that thing
What happened to his arm?
Sorry, but this is straight out of the coomer meme.
That guy is going to get soooooooo many BJ’s after that.
