The No named building (Colorful 40 story building on west street) only mentioned once in a New York Times article “Ghost buildings of 1929”. That’s about it .. no any other trace for pictures and information, therefore leads this No named unbuilt building Lost.

Are we sure this existed, then?
That's my first thought. There's no way it actually existed.
I think this may have been an early concept of the ''Fashion Building'', a planned, state of the art clothing store that was going to be built right before the Great Depression hit. The building was very colorful. I made a post about it on r/Unbuilt_Architecture
It was going to be a headquarters for a fashion company, it was aztec revival and never built
Maybe just promo sketch. Hard to believe it would vanish.
What is this title. Seriously.

Reminds me of the Cherokee Hard Rock casino in Oklahoma off I-44.
Isn't this Spook Central? The former home of Dana Barrett and Zuul.
The Ghostbusters building is 55 Central Park West
I'm bummed that there isn't some wild thread about a building that disappeared from NYC without a trace, but verryyy psyched about finding a new subreddit! 🍻
It looks like the building where Curious George painted the jungle in the rich lady’s apartment when the painters went on break.
I’d love to live there, seeing as it looks like it has a hotel built into it. Kind of like a business plaza?
To me it looks like how The Empire State was designed to look like before adding the spire to make it the tallest building in the world. [Here’s ](https://imgur.com/JrjZyor) the original ESB elevation. And [more](https://imgur.com/OIS85FR) and also [here’s ](https://imgur.com/lhe66pt) an original model.
It was actually built in New York by an architect named Evo Shandor, him and his band of Gozer worshippers designed it to be part of a ritual designed to bring about the end of the world
Tell them about the Twinkie.
I love it; has a very Thor Ragnarok/Guardians of the Galaxy color scheme that makes this feel quite contemporary in a way. There’s a whole separate conversation for a different sub to be had about *why* those bold pastels have become prominent in genre filmmaking over the last five years or so that involves digital color correction but basically this building reminds me of contemporary sci-fi production design. Also helps that in Disney California Adventure there’s a show building originally designed to resemble a period hotel tower, since remodeled to reflect the Guardians aesthetic, so in a roundabout way a building barking up the same tree ended up being build almost a century later!
The oldest house
Are you saying it wasn’t built because the stock market crash in 1928?
Reminded me of the Stalinist Apartment for his henchmen: https://www.rbth.com/arts/2014/04/16/apparatchik_apartments_behind_the_facades_of_the_house_on_the_embankment_35957.html
There was probably a plan to build something like this, but the Depression ruined it.
Reminds me of the "Tenpenny Tower" from Fallout 3.
looks pretty 1980s
