You know what? I must be as oblivious as Obi-Wan as I just now realized that Dooku even *had* a sith name. But why claim a sith name when you can claim a title of nobility? What county did Count Dooku control anyways?
He claimed the title of nobility upon leaving the Jedi order, and later on when he became a Sith Lord he claimed the title of Darth Tyranus. As to why he did that, it's just because all sith do, it's not really negotiable.
I uninstalled Battlefront 2 last night because I’ve been playing it constantly whenever I get a chance I and wanna try some other games.
Now I wanna reinstall.
Kylo wasn't a Sith, and Dooku and Palpatine both used their pre-Sith names because they were well known by those names, simply put. No one knew who Vader or Maul were and thus they didn't have a pre-Sith name to use (since no one knew Vader was Anakin other than Yoda and Ben Kenobi).
What bothers me is, Obi Wan could have known. Jango told him a man named Tyranus hired him to be the proto clone.
When it is revealed to him that Dooku is infact Tyranus, paired with the fact that he never seemed convinced with the origin story the caminoans gave him, he should have known the clones were a puzzlepiece in a far bigger plot.
He continued as Dooku in the same manor that Palpatine continued to use that name. Even in the days of the empire he was referred to as "Emperor Palpatine" because that's the name the galaxy knew him as already, just like how Dooku was already well known to a lesser extent.
His name is nobility. I'm not sure he'd hate being referred to by it. And it's not like he fully embraced the Sith anyways. He believed the Dark Side was more powerful, and that the Jedi were foolish and lost their way. He essentially viewed the Banite Sith as a means to an end for him to fix/save the galaxy from the corrupt Republic. Probably wasn't that attached to his Sith name
To be fair, Obi-Wan didn't learn Dooku and Tyrannus were the same person till S6 of the Clone Wars.
one would think a red lightsaber would be a clue
Poor Dooku
No one ever calls him by his title
Btw does anyone know what Dooku’s first name is?
Count

I think the worst thing is his name kinda means "I give my ass" in portuguese. So much so that they changed his name there to Dookan.
Master Sifo-Dyas says hi.
I can understand why he changed his name if he knew any person that spoke Portuguese. Dooku sounds like "Do cu", which means "From butthole"

Unlike Kylo, Vader, Maul, etc. Dooku still went by his non-Sith name
I saw nerd name and immediately thought Deku (from My Hero)

All the pieces of the clone plot were in front of the jedi, they just refused to put it together
Pretty sure he never embraced the name and always continues as dooku.

Sit Down!
Only the initiated.
"Maybe you'll think twice before you cut off someone's head!"
tyrANUS
No one is calling you that
When he wins a duel after leg day, people say "damn, "Tyrannus' sore ass wrecks!"
Count tyrannus?
The same is with palpatine
