I have a watch list of a large number of stocks, which I use just to quickly get a feel for how an industry is doing overall any given day. Woke up this morning and those lists are just 90 degree lines going down. It's going to be an, er, interesting day.
Update. A lot of those stocks have lost 20 to 30% in an hour. Glasses up for everyone who had any money invested in the market.
My short term plays turned into long term today.

One just has to look at the technicals on the charts. Many were well above the 200-day moving average. And many are crashing back down to earth.

Gave up on holding anything. I just look for stocks in a mild upswing, buy all I can and sell a couple minutes later with the first uptick.

Week before last: up over $100~ Today: down $110 and falling. Only have ZOM and ATOS at the moment. I could buy at the dip on ZOM but scared of it falling further.
Days like this is a good reminder to be a long term, diversified investor. Not a fun day, but you know diversified holdings go up long term.
