Barracuda lake in Coron?
I've dove there, it's pretty epic and has a thermocline..
There's basically no fish in their so really nothing to worry about..
It's one of the most famous freediving lakes in the world

I’ve seen far to many scary movies start out this way. Just a peaceful float going on and then BOOM!!! A 10,000 year old undiscovered gigantic beast swims up and that person is never seen again.
there’s a lake that me and my friends swim in during the summer, i’ll swim along fine and then all of a sudden my mind will go “what if something is in the water with u right now?” so i swim really fast to get out ahahaha
I’m pretty sure that someone mentioned the fact that nothing appears alive below the surface leading the person to believe that there was a problem with the water and that the filmer likely shouldn’t be swimming in it.
Not true. I'm from the Philippines and I've been there, this is called Barracuda Lake in Coron Island, Palawan.
Its situated near the end of the island by the sea. There's fish there, they just dwell a lot on the bottom. And yes there's actual Barracuda there, it's saltwater .

This reminds me of the time when I was swimming in an empty condo pool all by myself with no one else around, I had my goggles on so I went underwater and saw the whole entire pool very clearly, and it totally freaked me out.
71% of the earth's surface is covered by water according to NOAA. That only gives us 29% where we're safe.
If an animal the size of a blue whale can disappear for months at a time, what else is down there?
We're here to show you.
Not sure if I’m more scared at the thought of something coming OUT of the abyss, or the idea of losing stamina and sinking INTO it.
I hadn't thought about sinking...... I now don't know what would be worse
Everytime I’ve ever seen a deop off like this where you just suddenly can’t see the bottom it scares me
Doing that at the beach in 10 feet of water gets in my head. Same at the local lakes where I fish.
My mind starts conjuring images of what might be down there the first few minutes out.
Eventually it stops and I forget about it but those first few minutes get in my head and fuck with me.
This makes me unreasonably uncomfortable.
I’ve seen too many horror movies to not imagine something quickly swimming towards me. I’m not sure what’s worse... clear or cloudy water?
This is one of the few posts on here that makes me feel genuinely terrified
Something touches your leg ...
At least you can see what's touching your leg.
It looks beautiful but as soon as you faced the dark blue abyss I noped the fuck out.
I've played enough Subnautica to not like this.
*Reaper leviathan wants to know your location*
Oh HELL no.
Imagine dropping your phone in there.
Imagine diving after it

Yes that's the place. There's actually fish there, just around the bottom. There's also barracudas there, some videos on YouTube show it.

I know right? All the creature movies were coming to my mind when I saw this.
My fear is too strong..... pretty but terrifying to me!!!
are there fish in that lake?
They’re super small
Nope.
That's gonna be a Philippine No from me, dawg.
Fuuuuck that
Fully.
I keep seeing this video reposted here and there and every time I think it'll be a photoshopped shark-attack version, lucky swimmer again
To be fair, water that clear generally has very little life in it. So it’s unlikely there would be anything too sinister down there.
Too clear, afraid of falling into the abyss once gravity catches up to me.
Enjoy sky blue.
The lack of fish is the strangest part
At 36c-38C, most of the fish would be cooked.
Wonder what apex predators dominate these waters
surprised there’s not fish
There are plenty of small ones.

I really wanna try and reach the bottom of this lake
I am terrified on the deep but I've been there and it is incredible
It's beautiful...I hate it
I bet there's brain eating ameobas in there.
I mean... at least you can clearly see what’s going to kill you.
And considering sharks are ambush predators. The rush from underneath. From below, a swimmer looks close enough to a tasty seal.
NOW SHOW US YOUR SUGAR DADDY pwease
I'm glad this is not the one that they edit with a shark coming in fast from the front
That small difference there gave me a near panic attack on my first open water dive, took me a minute to collect myself...whole other world down there

Someone should video edit this to have large tentacles just below
I’d be afraid to cut my feet on the rocks.

Jesus Christ, there will never be a day of my life that I can stand to watch this
This is so comforting somehow
Oh so it's not the one with the jumpscare

Yeah.... nah I'm good.
Well I have to get anxiety meds now.
Hey I've been there before. Very nice place. Would recommend to visit again
r/savevideo
I can't decide if this is more or less terrifying than normal lake water
Nah
Oh, hell no.
No, I don’t like this.
the worst part is that by the time you saw it coming for you, it would be too late.
If its that clear then its not even that scary
OMG😂watching that literally feels my heart with dread

Nope, not a big fan of this one...
Ok.. Fuck that
Holy shit...anyone else feel like they're falling? Might be the edibles.
