How do you find out your cat likes to be carried in a paper bag?
Probably brought something like groceries home in a large paper bag, cat jumped in. Wouldn't get out, she picked up the bag, cat was still fine.
It's a clear natural progression to me from lady with a cat to neighborhood weird paper bag cat lady.
I got my cat a small [Sling carrier](https://i.imgur.com/sY6r3ED.jpg) so I could take her along when I walked the dogs. Highly recommended.
Ok, so first of all, thank you so much for this because the paper bag looks so ghetto and I was tearfully resigned to having to carry him outside in one forever. I hope Charlie jumps into a sling carrier like he does paper bags.
And secondly, you guys look amazing and I wish we were neighbors so we can meet up for cat walks.
My kid loved to be carried on me in a carrier, so I started doing it in side my house. I became the crazy mom who carries her baby ‘everywhere’ sometimes you do what you can to survive. Pick your battles. Peace

That's adorable as hell. We tried the leash on Charlie and he just [flops around](https://i.imgur.com/mSasJOQ.jpg) on the ground. So we use it for lounging in the backyard on a nice day now 😅
I got a little backpack with mesh windows. I sometimes wear it on my front and if someone asks about her, I go on about her like a proud parent.

My good boy Milton always wanted to go outside (strictly an indoor cat). When he was getting older and started getting sick (probably bowel cancer) I got him a little harness and would take him out and let him sniff around in the shrubs. It seemed to make him happy even though I know I looked like a weirdo to my neighbors in the condo complex. We do strange things for our pets.
I had a cat that liked me to put her around my neck, like a scarf, and go for walks in the neighborhood. I'd hold her front paws in one hand, back paws in the other. She was a goofy girl and I was the crazy guy with the cat scarf.
That is a VERY cute cat to be fair though so it takes down the weird factor a bit.

My baby Shiro is an indoor cat who was born inside my old apartment. He's the most huggable and touch loving cat. He loves to be carried around inside. My gf would also take him outside in her arms and walk around the neighborhood. She loves doing it at night since rona. Shiro doesn't try to jump or run. We tried putting him down once and he climbed up my jeans. I love a huggable cat who wants held walks throughout the neighborhood!

Thank you for sharing this! If it makes you feel any better about your eccentric cat lady status, I have one that likes to go for walks in my hood, and another who follows me and the kids on walks. Sometimes we go to the park haha. There are probably dozens of us.

I only did it that one time for a minute but he's been waiting in paper bags now, hoping to be taken outside again. It's kind of pathetic.
I suggest still having a collar and leash on that you're holding just in case he jumps out.

Anyone who wants to try something like this, you should put a harness and leash on your kitty anyway, even if you're going to carry them. One good fright and scramble without and they are gone. Had a cat that loved being carried around, he was fine 99% of the time, but the other 1% if he wasnt on a leash, he'd have bolted. And I got a few good scratches when I first figured this out and had to hold onto him the whole way home while he was freaking out.
