Every single time I see a post that starts with “What if ______,” I immediately scroll past it. I get that it can be fun to think creatively, but if I can propose the complete inverse of someone’s “theory” (spoiler alert: none of them have been theories) and my response is equally probable, then they haven’t contributed anything meaningful. They’re just thinking too much.
We **know** *nothing*, any “plausible theory” is doomed to be insubstantial, and anyone who claims to have derived answers from the pittance of evidence we’ve gotten so far is either lying, delusional, or just in need of a good nap.
“Trust those who seek the truth; doubt those who say they have found it.”

Anybody remember StumbleUpon? I loved that shit and still haven't found a good replacement. I would get lost for hours stumbling on Alien or Conspiracy topics but I knew it was just a time-suck. Most of the shit was so completely outside reality but it was absolutely fascinating to read.
It honestly never occurred to me that a lot of people would take any of it seriously and now I realize they did. I really, really, really want Aliens to be real, and more importantly, superior to humans, I think it would be an amazing lesson in humility for those that need it but I will always be a cynic.
We know there are Al foils around Roswell that have isotopic ratios not consistent with Earth's. Does that count?
Holy *shit*, I've not seen this report! Thank you!
\-Page 7/8 (Emphasis mine)
>Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images were taken of all of the samples, at magnification ranging from 25X to 15,000X. Higher magnifications were not used because a problem was encountered in focusing on these samples at higher magnification. *The focusing problem was of sufficient magnitude to preclude the use of magnifications greater than 15,000X.*
See the image in the lower right of Page 9. You *literally* can't get a good look at it.
>These results are very unusual, and show extremely skewed isotopic ratios in the three tested elements, relative to the normal terrestrial amounts of the isotopes in each of these elements.
Look at the Nickel Ratios. Then right underneath THAT:
>Samples W-1 and W-6 were placed on a flat surface, and a pendulum, constructed from a 4 oz *lead* weight tied to an 18” long piece of monofilament nylon line was passed over the samples. When the weight passed over the samples at close range (< 2”) the weight consistently showed a noticeable deflection away from the sample.
And laid right out on page 33.

Yep. We're all chasing phantoms -- in the literal sense, as we seek knowledge about fleeting things that only a tiny percentage of people encounter in an overwhelming, undeniable way.
Theories, however, are not simply "what if" fantasies about what *might* be. And they're not a back-of-envelope hypothesis. A scientific theory involves careful observation, wide knowledge about the natural world in which the phenomena occurs, equally broad language of the natural and man-made factors, a deep knowledge of all the disciplines potentially involved in a phenomena, and an ongoing familiarity with all the branches of knowledge, industry and philosophy surrounding your subject of inquiry. The theory must then be tested, in the field and in the lab, until other answers are ruled out and causation is firmly established.
What this kind of work has brought us knowledge of, in an unbroken line from the astronomers of the ancient kings to our robotic astronomy telescopes launched into space for a clearer view of the cosmos, is a wonderful and exciting world of near-daily discoveries of new exoplanets, galaxies, and ways of understanding our galaxy and the universe from our currently limited vantage point of one planet in one solar system.
There are about 17,000 astronomers and astrophysicists working around the world, for some 180 nations and hundreds of universities and research observatories. Crossing over with astronomers is the speculative field of exobiology -- lately re-named astrobiology to be of wider focus. There are over 30 astrobiology graduate-level and continuing-education (for current astronomers, biologists or physicists) programs in the US. [https://astrobiology.nasa.gov/careers-employment-courses/](https://astrobiology.nasa.gov/careers-employment-courses/)
If this is a passion for you, consider making it a career! Lots of people go to scientific careers from science-fiction childhood interests, that is well-established. But it's work, and it's a career. Charles Darwin spent the majority of his lifetime on a single theory on a topic that was controversial. But his rigor paid off: His theory, long in the back of intelligent people's minds as a likelihood, became the scientific standard nearly immediately upon publication of *On the Origin of Species.*
The major problem serious UFO researchers have found -- yes there used to be serious UFO researchers, carefully collecting data on the ground whenever a big UFO flap hit an area -- is that the *assumption* in the 20th Century (UFOs are alien spaceships) has little to do with the *measurable reality* of the data. That's why, in 1969, the astronomer and data scientist Jacques Vallee presented his general theory of UFOs being an earthbound, folkloric/religious phenomenon.
Having "run out of rope," so speak, on the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis question earnestly posed by aerospace-minded thinkers of the late 1940s/early 1950s, Vallee and his cohorts around the world made an informed decision to study what could be studied -- as there was nothing but ideas and wishes to connect our earthly UFO phenomenon to our science-fiction ideas of humanoid civilizations around the galaxy.
It should've revolutionized the discipline, but instead the "nuts and bolts" researchers were offended and repelled by the removal of the outer-space brothers from the study. Vallee, Keel, and others offered that alien civilizations may well have some role in all of this that we don't comprehend and cannot explain, but that to ignore the whole history of humanity (dominated by rituals formed from human-spirit/entity contact) was really leaving out most of the puzzle pieces.
Thread Title: Hey maybe we should calm down on the crazy baseless theorizing
ITT: More crazy baseless theorizing
"*I can't make sense of this world anymore because I am personally incapable of logically analysing the available data and secretly scientifically illiterate, so everybody has to agree that we know nothing so I don't feel stupid*"...
Or in short: "*We DoN'T KnoW anYtiNgG !.!¡*"
Whenever I see this line I see a petson dying inside and trying to take everyone with them... the last desperate try to deny their own intelectual impotence.
Alternatively, this line is also invoked by another group which may or may not overlap. The people who basically say: "*Growing evidence is making my fictional fantasies ever-harder to rationalize, but since my psychological breakdown is prevented by the survival of these fantasies, I will do my best to nullify the value of any actual evidence and logical conclusions out there*"...
In short, this is the "Denial Phase". Next up, "Anger". Brace yourselves, I give it months until it properly starts.
These things being physical objects in the sky was just a theory as well.
Edit: But yes from here it seems we're just farting in the wind. What they do breaks our laws of physics, which means everything we think is right in physics probably isn't.
That doesn't mean a lot of it is wrong. Just that we've actually concluded nothing. There's still more to things we thought we understood completely.
I agree completely, until we know for certain they will always be theories and should explicitly be stated as such. That’s the point of the post.
Exactly, we literally only perceive and experience a fraction of what reality really is. Who knows what we don't know...
There are lots of uncertanties but there are definitely lots of things we know. Your post reads like "we don't know a single thing because I am excluding the things we do know from being counted"
What do we **know**?
1. There are bizarre vehicles of various models and extraordinary capabilities being spotted around the world.
2. Multiple governments have implemented methods of investigating these sightings and all *claim* to know next to nothing about them.
Everything else is hearsay. Any reliable evidence must be both valid and reliable, and a bunch of books/articles/lectures about eyewitness testimonies and curious findings **are not** both valid and reliable. They are curiosities. That’s it.
Thanks for the link, the more accurate knowledge shared the better.
Yeah it’s crazy to know UFO’s are a thing, verified by the government. Reports of these things doing zoomies all over the place throughout history is sobering.
We don’t know for sure what’s going on.
It sucks, but the government may know less than we hope.
Extrapolating from what I see happening on this world, I think UFOs/UAPs are billionaires from another world.
I could see that, but I think that technology wouldn’t be possible if money was that important to them. They’d blow themselves up just like we’re working on doing at the moment.
I have blocked several users in this sub, so they will never see this comment. The reason I blocked them is because they are so adamantly opposed to open or creative thought. Anytime someone proposes anything that challenges their world view, they attempt to "prove" that your idea is impossible, and when that fails it turns into personal attacks on your intelligence for even thinking up such a thing.
There is nothing wrong with speculation, as this can lead to thought experiments and eventually experiments to prove the idea you first speculated about.
Exactly. Knowledge is the most important thing we can have. Knowledge isn’t speculative, knowledge is indisputable evidence of something and what alit all entails.
I do believe we as humans have a sort of “feeling” about things that we can’t explain. But its obvious when these things weren’t thought up organically from experience and more of what sounds cool.
THIS point. I don't think any real scientific discovery can be done until we first acknowledge the possibility that not only do we not know anything, but we may never be capable of comprehending the reality/truth anyway.
Never simply means you have given up trying. Science must never acknowledge even the possibility that something which exists cannot be discovered.
Relative to what is out there, you could say we know virtually nothing. But surely we can say that we know that there is life out there. How could there not be? You could take a pedantic view and say we don't technically 'know' that but then aren't you just condemning yourself to an intellectualisation of it rather than a genuine search for answers?
How can you know that others don't know anything? You can only know what *you* yourself don't know, but saying that others are clueless is just a projection of your ignorance.
I don't mean to sound condescending. We are all ignorant but to different degrees in different areas.
>The evidence points to the fact that we don’t know anything about these things and their purpose.
Correction: The evidence *you* have seen. You cannot speak for other's knowledge other than your own.
If you limit yourself to only what you can gather from your senses, you're depriving yourself of the opportunity to understand foreign concepts regarding other dimensions.
I mean, I know the governments of the world have been lying to us since... time? Yeah since time existed. Lol
Its funny how people jump on computer code (simulation theory), quantum mechanics and so on to explain everything. What are the odds that current tech is is the key to unlock base reality?
Computers were an unknown unknown for the ancient greeks. It's likely there are unfathomable unknown unknowns today. Not as in a fourth dimension and interdimensional beings, or timetravel or wormholes, or sentient machines or a sentient universe (the greeks could imagine panpsychism) but truly unimaginable unknowns that we would be able to grasp even if something tried to explain it to us.
I agree 100% quite a few people word things as if they are facts but I could say aliens told us about buttplugs and that is as truthful or accurate as any of their statements.
We have such a hard time thinking outside the box. So we just wonder how ufos can fly without wings or rocket power. Such nonsense-it they're a million years ahead of us.
Precisely. Nice post
You do if you do though. There's always that. Plus if you do know, you know and once you do there is no way to unknow it either. Know what I mean?
Know comes from the greek word gnosis. There. My reply had value.
If you have seen a craft and been abducted or have communicated with a being from somewhere else, than you can't unknow that. You have to believe people. The problem is we are trained by a hundred ways to think the end all is government. No. Government lies. Like people do. You need to experience and when you do, let me tell ya. Your damn right they are real.
You are not fun
No one knows shit about anything.
We do know some things. We know the objects are not from our military or any other nation state military. If they were, we would have our asses handed to us in any war and trust me, China and Russia would be dominating the world right now if they had this tech. If you deny that, you know jack shite about the goals of the communist states.
If our military is lying, and there is that possibility, we "know" this is tech that has been developed over the past 50 years and now we will dominate the world hopefully with freedom.
So we do know things and can deduct that this our tech or off world or interdimensional tech. We know some things, it's just that some want to troll, poo poo and pee on the corn flakes of those paying attention.
We know 4 things:
1. Extraterrestrial life exists in the universe. (Probability 1 by Amir Ascel goes into this, and why it's not just "very very likely" but actually a certainty.)
2. We're seeing things in the sky we can't explain. They're real, and not just hallucinations or hoaxes.
3. The government knows more than they're telling us.
4. The energy requirements for interstellar travel are stupendous.
Everything else, EVERYTHING, even that what we're seeing are ET in origin, are constructed assumptions built upon these axioms.
Inter-dimensional rather than ET.
Honestly, my view of the many great questions about whether or not aliens are here or even out there (they more than likely exist *somewhere* at least) and just the general purpose of life and how we even came into being is just that we're most likely to never get those answers in a way we can understand them. Even if it were possible to get the answer to say, the meaning of life -- would we even be able to fathom or comprehend it? It's all fascinating to wonder about but when it comes down to it, we don't know jack shit about reality, much less the nature of it or reason for it.
ITT:People who swear they’re the exception and they’ve got all this figured out and you just have to trust the hundred conspiracy websites you’re about to get linked to as gospel or you’re just part of the conspiracy
You refer to beings, but I wouldn’t even assume that yet. All explanations seem unlikely but there has to be one, right? Until we see the fabled HD smoking gun video of these things, the likelihood of technical malfunctions and human misperception should still be in the ring of explanations. Hard to imagine? Absolutely, but we have to consider all options.
Good points all around. I’m just like everybody else here, trying to find ways to understand. The reason I made this post specifically was for those who seem to be taking it too seriously into their personal life. I know what it can do to those with mental illness (I am one of those people) and I just want it to be more of a healthy discussion instead of what this sub is becoming.
I watched a marine biologist talking about the ocean floor, and she said the conditions down there are less hospitable than on the surface of Venus. Therefore nothing could survive down there. Nothing we would ever consider complex life. Welp, case closed I guess 🤣
WE do have a few facts about the phenomenon:
1. The phenomenon is real
2. We don't know what it is
“I don’t believe anything, but I have many suspicions” —Robert Anton Wilson
all we can know is what we experience and we can’t even be sure of that
We do know one thing: we don't rate.
If we were worthy they'd openly contact us and make diplomatic and trade agreements and everything would be out in the open.
What I’ve seen on Reddit is a few semi-credible former government officials that may or may not be spreading misinformation, some former astronauts (one of which also claimed to see sunken ships from space and made a treasure map), some individuals that claim to have been abducted or seen crafts…several that also mentioned drugs in subsequent sentences or postings, a former punk band member, John Podesta (pedophile or inappropriate at best), and Harry Reed.
What am I missing?
We do know or at least have a good idea of some things we cannot see. Electrons, dark matter, dark energy, quarks, black holes are examples. We find ways to see the unseen and unseeable, even if it's only through math.
only thing we know is that strange objects exist and move in ways that are most easily described by an exotic propulsion system
This hits quite close. This phenomenon of "something weird" has been with us for centuries, but the truth eludes us.
[Jacque Vallee's TED talk](https://youtu.be/S9pR0gfil_0)
We know they use a form of possible anti gravity. We know they can go from air to water with ease. We know they travel into space and back. We know that their tech is millennia ahead of ours. We know they have cloaking systems. We know that we can see them under IR or maybe they let us see them. And we know that if they were an actual threat, we'd know by now after thousands of years of them visiting us. We know a lot but not really that much as well.
The false flag narrative has weight. There are tons of ex-CIA testifying to this, soldiers, a 4 star general, etc
Just look at \[Special Report 14\]([https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/#google\_vignette](https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/#google_vignette)) an analysis of the data gathered during Project Bluebook.
"The Air Force also incorrectly claimed that only 3% of the cases studied were unknowns, instead of the actual 22%. They further claimed that the residual 3% would probably disappear if more complete data were available."
We even have documents saying this can't be shown to the public because just the information of UFOs threat to national security. We have documents for the CIA funneling money into Hollywood. and media companies. With testimony from multiple sources saying this is being covered up.
Believe what you want, but definitely don't believe the people who would hijack a plane of Americans, and crash it to convince America we need to invade Cuba. \[Operation Northwoods\]([https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/operation-northwoods/](https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/operation-northwoods/))
I could link you all day to horrible things the Deep State has done that's declassified.
By definition we cannot fathom the unfathomable.
But, we can *try to*. I see no harm no foul in that.
you know everything, we are here and have been here for a long time. the war is over and good defeated evil, many souls sacrificed themselves so you can still live today. all of your eyes are open, it’s time to wake up
Mauro Biglino hes italian biblical scholar, he also looks at homers iliad and sumerian creation and finds a lot of interesting stuff there
Even «alien» is a human concept. I mean, we think the universe as human, we think about ufo as human. But when people see ufo with light, Lighting is a human technology link to human history and come with electricity and mechanics (for space ship). I mean all those sighting seem more human than alien, because all those sighting come with human historic technology and concept.
Cool. Shut it all down then, nothing new to discover. We don't have the tech or brain power to figure out something new. Shut is ALL down! LOL. Get out of here.
I wish the average demographic group could have the same experiences involving these beings as those of us in the Native American communities do. Maybe it's because we are such a spiritual community. People are clueless how important spirituality is when it comes to the phenomenon. Especially us native medicine practitioners (aka medicine man). It's so hard to share sometimes because I know people won't believe it. I understand and respect their right of being hesitant to believe any story a person claiming to be native makes on a site like this.
I truly believe, based on my own personal encounters and experiences and of the encounters and experiences shared with me by fellow tribal elders and spiritual leaders that soon there will be no doubt. Unfortunately it's not going to be the feel good moment that everyone is hoping for. The battle against good and evil is real. Many native prophecies tell of the return of our creators (aka Star People) and the end of the 4th earth. Many tribal communities warned mankind to humble themselves and evolve into a more enlightened society to prevent this from happening. Many of these ancient prophecies said that these events started this year. Unfortunately, thanks to humans overwhelming arrogance and greed these warnings were dismissed as nothing more than myths or folklore. I guess time will soon tell. Science has validated that we have entered into a mass earth extinction event thanks to climate change because of how bad we so unnecessarily screwed up the planet due to greed and power.
Have any of these prophecies been written down anywhere where non-Native Americans can read them?
This is true of evidence that’s available for everyone, but if you have had personal experiences it’s not baseless. Unprovable, sure, but whether or not something is legit and whether or not it can be proven are two different concepts. From my experiences, I believe our brains are evolving to perceive 4 dimensions and some are more ahead than others. There also seems to be an acceleration of some kind. I can’t prove this, but that’s because our science hasn’t caught up to four dimensions and there aren’t many perceiving it as solidly as I do (not fully solid though, it’s like a personal augmented reality laid over our shared reality) so there isn’t a shared language to even describe what I am experiencing succinctly let alone methods available to prove it’s really happening to me.
We evolve beyond the person we were a minute before! Little by little, we advance a bit further with each turn. That's how a drill works!!"
— Simon the Digger
Extraterrestrial or alien existence is a statistical fact. That is science. Irrefutable. This we do know. The evidence points to the fact that we do in fact know. Maybe you should spend more time with the actual literature instead of the bullshit you seem to find in the MSM.
Joke or really first contact?!?!
This is a theory
the thing that people need to understand is, that you cannot really grasp the concept of aliens without having a multidimensional worldview and being spiritually inclined.
most of the ETs out there arent even visible for our waking consciousness because they simply reside in a higher density/dimension.
for those of us who are on their spiritual path, there is no doubt about their existance because we are able to connect with them energetically and even communicate telpathically (in some cases).
if you know how to navigate the sea of immense bullshit and fake channelings, you are able to identify those channeled messages who are most definately by the galactics and in doing so you will understand our current situation regarding them.
there is a very good reason why they are not already landing here. and this is because humanity is litterally held hostage by the dark ETs who have invaded earth some several thousand years ago and to this day still are the real rulers of this world and are behind the cabal who are controlling our governments.
if you want to know the whole story regarding this all, you can read this article who sums it up quite nicely: [https://www.reddit.com/r/freedomofspirituality/comments/luy323/looking\_beyond\_the\_veil/](https://www.reddit.com/r/freedomofspirituality/comments/luy323/looking_beyond_the_veil/)
they galactics ARE here and are egerly awaiting our reunion with them! soon we will be finally free and will have official contact! 💖
You state so much of this as fact but in the end it’s just another theory, right? If we’re really devoted to finding the truth we need to be real with ourselves and recognize the differences.
Let’s just have full trust in our selfless and ever loving government ❤️ they truly want the best for us and we should feel comfortable that they are withholding the most important discoveries ever documented in humankind from humankind /s
Yep. Not a thing. Either fake videos or dubious reports. Or a loud mouth with nothing to show
“Knowledge is like a spiral, constantly evolving and never repeating” 😂
Is that not a way of perceiving knowledge? We grow in knowledge when we find new discoveries. Knowledge is constantly evolving and thinking it will remain stagnant for eons is ridiculous.
There is no “we” process to base a “we” opinion on. The usual public citadels of investigation are not free to pursue the topic without risk of ridicule or loss of funding.
What “we” don’t have is a “we” process. In the absence of these topics having a collective academic home, “we” could never come to any significant conclusion. The entity “We” has no legitimate voice in this discussion yet until it can prove it even exists by virtue of providing a process that includes all stakeholders in open discussion.
You missed the entire point of the post. It’s fine to discuss possibilities, it’s those who wish to project their ideals as fact and the only “reasonable” explanation that I felt the need to make the post about.
So if theories and speculation are wanted because they’re unproven, but we “don’t know a single thing”, what exactly do you want the content of this sub to be?
Who said they are unwanted? Literally read the first paragraph.
This sub would be better if you had to be at least 32 years old to make a post. I see so many topics started by what can only be 15y old kids enthralled with their own dumb ideas with no real world experience to post anything worth reading
Might want to push that. I turn 33 this year.
