The way Saitama walks after the fight is over is just hilarious
Generally how wacky and casually he dodges and moves. He is so ridiculously overpowered, that he doesn't even have to remotely take anything serious. And his outfit is just the cherry on top to symbolize that.
God, I need to rewatch this show
Update: Already watched the first 2 eps again, this show brings me joy
The best rewatch was right before season 2 came out when Twitch had it.
Twitch should put more shows up like that. I mean...other than pokemon.
Damn season 1 was so good
One punch man only has one season though.
Edit: In hindsight this is just a failed attempt at a joke as it had zero hints stating it was a joke
This is the single most best fight in one punch man season 1.
The mosquoto scene was the best imo.
Slap that bitch.
Imagine living in the one punch man universe and there's just random hole everywhere
With all those other heroes and villains running around everything would be broken all the time. I guess you'd get so tired of naming the things you rebuild that you might just assign areas a letter instead.
dat walk always gets me lol
That tap on forehead was too cute
it was indeed. :>
What's so wonderful about this scene is that Saitama is godlike in his strength but such a goofy dude otherwise. The way he's walking away after that powerful punch exemplifies the juxtaposition between godly power and goofiness that is Saitama.
I know it's anime logic, but when they showed the split cliff, wouldn't that only be possible if the punch went through ie through Genos's head.
Or is it considered that Genos's head is resistant to that kind of wind power but the background cliff wasn't.
If a decent studio like bones or MAPPA adapts the 3rd season it's gonna top the first season, the Manga has some serious hype fights
no mappa please
they already have so much work with jjk, chainsaw man and aot
i feel bad for the animators
they are even quitting due to severe work condiotions
I love how this sub is always appreciating season 1 and r/manga is always appreciating Murata’s art in the manga. A lot of opm love going around and i couldnt be happier because the series is really damn cool.
Genos’s eyes powering down when faced with death is such a small but great touch.
That's him coming off battle mode, you can see his arms and some of his chest stop glowing from under his shirt too!
How did the little tap not kill him
I know most people prefer Saitama vs boros fight and it's good. But I personally much prefer this one, it just feels more personal and kinetic. Then again I Wil always prefer good hand to hand /martials like animation over more bombastic world destroying fights
Damn it. It still gave me chills , even after watching it so many times
To this day I still wonder why he's still not filthy rich
Same reason why Genos is S-Class and he’s still only B-Class (yes, I know he had a shitty mark on his written test).
From a canon perspective, because he’s just apathetic and doesn’t give a shit to cash in.
From a meta perspective, because it’s funnier this way
this has got to be one of my favorite anime scenes of all time
nah not fight, you are right there but scene over all
That wonky walk at the end from Saitama always gets me
I like how Saitama normally doesn't really show off but here he is really styling on Genos
Strongest hero in any anime series
so you haven't heard about Tompa, The Rookie Crusher
That's so cool
dude just made a hole in a freaking mountain and genos is like "come at me with everything you got"
I always liked the detail that Saitama punched from further away and then immediately went in front of Genos to block him from his own hit. I remember first watching it I was a little confused on how Genos didn’t get hurt besides messy hair but realized it only on the second watch that Saitama just took his own hit.
I still don't see it, only the forehead flick. Is that what you're talking about?
I miss Genos and Saitama interaction so much. I need a 3rd cour!\~
The animation is so clean!
Thank you for reminding me of this scene and how good this show was!
But if he pulled the punch to avoid splattering his disciple, and the disciple just felt a little wind, how did all the damage behind him happen?
I think OPM Season 2 was very good (except the animation), the only reason many people disliked it was because Season 1 was phenomenal
This just reiterates the extremely disappointing drop in quality in S2, a lot of people were happy to gloss over it, but for the high level of production in the anime was too integral.
Time to show some attitude. He is in the mood.
I love the way he walks away
I'm glad that Genos doesn't pass out.
I love the walk
Genos’ design was a lot better here compared to season 2 imo
Nice scene but it has always annoyed that Genos doesn't even fall from the impact whereas the mountain behind him is crushed.
Yea, it keeps me awake at night thinking about it
Genos: Take this seriously.
That was really good
Just casually plug walks away after putting the fear of god in his disciple.
love that scene, saitama being serious for a few secs is scary af
One of the best animated fights I've seen.
That first line is something you never want to tell saitama
Cuz if he gets real ur fuckin dead
These guys on YouTube did a live action take of this scene and it was pretty awesome. [For those curious.](https://youtu.be/xMFUNpBmMt4)
Thanks for the recommendation stranger!
"Show me no mercy" - Famous last words from some stupid ass dead guy
I've always wondered how Saitama managed to not blow Genoa away with that punch, when the wind was strong enough to just through the rock and then kept going to punch through more rock in the background. Like how did the wing manage to mostly go around Genoa?
The simple answer for that, is Saitama took the initial impact by moving infront of the "hit". After the initial impact everything else behind Genos was affected. The logic behind this answer might be flawed, but it's regarded as the most agreed upon theory based on animation, character placement and visual effects, such as dust or air molecules around specific areas.
this got me both into anime and opm
Man this animation probably won’t ever be matched but at least I have the manga
I miss season 1 quality.
I feel like the timing of this show is just so perfect too. We’ve had DBZ and shonen the like for the past 20 years. It’s so funny just seeing how they play into the tropes on this show.
Such a classic at this point
This whole fight was awesome
This is my favourite seen thank you
Man I’m still waiting for s3 but the arc hasn’t ended in the manga yet 😭 anyone have an estimate on when it will end?
Around a year later. But for season 3 we need physical release of volume 24 which will probably come a few months later.
My favorite scene
I hate the people who compare saitama and goku because saitama is not a serious character. his trope is one punch, he will beat goku in one punch, and it will not make goku any weaker, because if he didn’t then the anime would be worthless. He can beat literally everything in one punch. It does not matter who. The second strongest anime character would die in one punch, Saitama canonically has no limiter.
Lol sorry if I put this in the wrong place I hate these arguments with a passion
Only if season 2 was done the same way. All of season 1 is pure epic.
God, I love that show.
Season one art and animation was just fantastic.
