Fuse is a legend that confuses me. When I look at his abilities overall it seems like a good baseline to work from, but they just messed up in the execution on some aspects. The fact you can get out of his ult without taking damage easily is insane.
My theory is that they nerfed him before releasing him because of how horizon turned out
Hey, having double stacks of grenades is always useful!
Even if you do miss all of your throws...
But that one arc star stick from 200+ meters away makes all the misses worth it
Aside from his passive (grenade stacking). This rest of his kit is outshined by other legends.
His tactical needs to be usable while he's firing. Like Bangalore and Rev.
His Ult needs a big rework almost. The fire needs more height there should be a center ring of fire as well. Damage needs to apply from it faster as well.
And for the love of Odin, do not ADS with his tactical. It produces a really weird bug when you next ADS with a weapon the first time.
> His tactical needs to be usable while he’s firing. Like Bangalore and Rev.
Agreed, but his RIGHT arm is the prosthetic launcher, so they would have to flip the entire character.
His ULT should've been like his teaser in S7. Nukes dropping and blowing up into rings of fire.
Maybe one nuke in the middle to force players into the fire or take extra damage
His ult could definitely be touched up, but I adore the knuckle cluster, its phenomenal for getting enemies out of cover, and its oh so satisfying to land a direct hit and listen to the shields crack.
I'm an average player, not dogshit, not godly, I'm at about 50 wins with him this season, more wins that I've had with any legend in a seasons time, so I'm liking him pretty well.
Same. I'm not a *great* player, but Knuckle Cluster can do some work. I've gotten a lot of shield cracks off it. And it's really satisfying to put on a corner where you *know* an enemy is healing right there.
Make his flames go a bit higher so it’s not as easy for legends to just hop over it. That and make it so it gives consistent damage whenever it lands.
I don’t get all of the trash talk around Fuse! I love the stackable grenades and the extra distance can be so OP when used the correct way. His ult is doo-doo, but his tactical is very useful.
Same, although I feel Fuse was better in Kings Canyon. In Olympus there are too many cramped ceilings that can mess up your ult.
His tactical is nice, but it's really just more to harass and annoy the other teams than actually accomplish anything. I think it needs just a LITTLE more love. Not necessarily more damage per se, but maybe it deafens people in the area for just a few.
His ult looks cool, but doesn't do shit typically. I feel like most of the time I'm just trying to line up the outer edges for damage as opposed to "trapping" people, which is the intent.
I just wanna know why sometimes te ring fire does only 5 damage, is it just a bug
People don’t like fuse?
His Ult leaves a bit to be desired but his Passive and Tac are nice enough. Hell. On KBM at least, being able to accurately yeet grenades at distance is fantastic. He’s wicked fun to use.
I’d argue his Tac is what’s worst about him. It takes way too long to pullout, does too little damage, and doesn’t even stick to people most times.
Idk what the hate is; he replaced bloodhound as my main immediately, and even if it is easy to leave his ult, using it is great for finishing downed opponents, causing sudden panic if even for a second, and keeping some people wrangled if theyre rezing etc, and the knuckle cluster is fun as fuck to stick ppl with especially if they take it towards their allies, and his grenade launcher is just fun. I never understood the hate tbh.
Ive been playing only fuse since season 8 came out. Having a lot of fun with him still, lol.
His ultimate can be useful. It’s just really situational
Can't wait for the S9 patch update: due to Fuse's underwhelming skill set, we've decided to make Wraith take 50% more damage than before and only allow her to use her ultimate ability once per game. We have also removed Caustic from the game.
horizon: due to player feedback and her dominance in the meta, we have removed her ult.
Great passive, decent tactical, not too enthusiastic about his ult tbh. When it works well it really works, but it works well rarely.
Fuse really needs a good buff right now. His tactical and his Ult are just not really working the way they should.
His ult on paper sounds very cool: a ring of fire that enemies can't escape from! Neat!
In practice: it's a ring of fire that most Legends can easily hop over. You're incentivized to fire it with them in the middle so they can't "escape" but really, you should be aiming to have the fire land on them so you can have at least SOME damage.
His tact is okay at best. 50 DMG is good, but it does it way too slow. I'd rather have an Arc Star stick because that's a solid 75 DMG + the explosion afterwards.
Yes, if you're using Fuse, forget about the other grenades. Arc Stars are the way to go.
IMO, if he got buff where he can fire his tact (and, crazy thought, grenades!) while ADSing like Bang and Revenant, he'd pump out damage more consistently.
Respawn really made a bad call when they made Fuse's mechanical arm his right one.
I dont think I've ever fought a squad and even considered a Fuse as an "extra" threat, like nobody I've played with has ever thought "oh shit a fuse, better watch out for his abilities" like you formerly would say about Caustic and can currently say about perhaps Lifeline or Horizon.
They took the lesson from Horizon's get out of jail free card (seriously, go try it, get yourself in a sticky situation and remember to press Q, it's amazing how often in scrub games, even on PC, this will result in successful healing where no other character could) and made fuse the opposite. Hes the ultimate skill character, zero get out of jail free cards except maybe spamming nades behind yourself as you attempt (in vain) to flee. His tactical is laughable at best, I play nearly daily and I've never once been negatively affected by it. Not even sure exactly what purpose it serves, it's just loud Pop Rocks.
Hes worse than rampart
I love his tactic and passive, but damn that últ is trash
I'm actually really confused on why people say that he's bad i play him a lot and get good results, love his tactical and his ult is not that good but i wouldnt call it bad either
Yup, I'm a hard casual and I was able to rack up over 300 kills with fuse in two weeks since I started playing him. While I agree with most that is said in this thread, Fuse's style fits me perfectly.
I think his abilities either suit a really specific niche and team based play style or they’re just kind of dumb. Like yeah you can snipe people from across the map with grenades but then how are you gonna capitalise on that without a movement character on your team and extremely proficient teamwork??? It’s kind of like the Crypto Ult issue except his entire move set is based around that issue. He’s like several Crypto ults in one character.
As insane as Horizon is (and how many dumbasses keep complaining about her) it was a way better tactic to release a strong character and then figure out how to nerf them. We now know that several Horizon moves are pretty OP and we can easily think about ways to fix them with nerfs. Fuse on the other hand is like bedrock bad and now that he’s in the meta every buff or change is going to be a major hassle to figure out if it’s really working or not. Honestly the dude should have released with 3 grenades in an item slot and a fuck tonne of damage to his ult and tonne of better effects to his tactical. Like you really want to release a character that people complain about losing to, that’s how you know you’re on the right track.
Hell I’d say even going the Horizon route and tweaking so many god damn things to the degree where you know that she’s got like a billion tricks up her sleeve is a better method because then you can figure how the player base will actually play that character.
Sure, releasing a character overpowered makes it easier to find their flaws, but then you also have that downtime when you are fixing those flaws where fun is killed for _everyone,_ and not just a single bad character.
But still better than rampart
No lol, Rampart may not have much but her kit actually has team value
I thought Fuse was good right? Like he hasn't been nerfed or anything and I think he's in a pretty good place. I didn't know people thought he was bad.
I don't get it. He's completely fine. They don't need to keep changing characters, he isn't OP but isn't bad either.
I agree with your last sentence, yet nobody plays him, and that includes me.
Wow, Fuse isn't that bad, u just can't use it... Revenant is pretty bad (look at his trailer and using him on the game is so saaad) imho
His kit is shit
Fuse rework idea
Passive: should stay as it is.
Tactical: keep damage and add stun for brief moment (0,25 sec stun)
Ultimate: needs a new animation so his ultimate would land like Bangalore or Gibby's but with smaller area of impact. Also, damage from fire should be reduced because his ultimate is now concentrated on a single area.
I have a few ideas on buffing him. Right now every part of his kit is weak and nothing is really powerful.
- Unlimited grenade stacking
- Give his Q either more damage or a stun effect
- Change the trajectory of his ult to work better indoors, either up the damage or increase the thickness of the ring
I understand wanting to buff him but _unlimited_ grenade stacking?
We want him to be powerful, not the most toxic character in the game.
I like all of fuses kit...
Buff him 😳
The only good thing about him is the grenade stacking and throwing them further. His tactical and ultimate are actual garbage. With his tactical, even if you stick someone with it, it hardly does enough damage or do any kind of other effect to justify not shooting at that moment. There is close to no reason to use his tactical to do damage where you could be blasting away with automatic gunfire.
His ultimate is supposed to be a ''trap'' to ''capture'' enemies but half the roster can just ignore it completely with their tacticals and the other half can just jump over it if theres a bit of space or simply walk through it and tank the damage as it damages you normally ie shields first, then health. Not like Caustic gas where it always damages health no matter the amount of shield you have.
His tactical needs some extra effect or damage. Perhaps a slow or a flashbang effect of sorts as it kind of explodes like fireworks. His ults fire damage either needs to be upped or changed to act like caustic gas and the height of the flames should be increased or inner rings of flame should be added. Or it could be reworked to something else entirely because lets face it, nobody thinks of a circus ring of fire when you say that a mortar with an absurd barrel is called ''Motherlode''. You would think of an absolute unit of an explosion that puts all other explosions to shame.
I’ve used his tac on several occasions to blow doors from a distance than rain throwables, it has its uses
They need to make his ult not slow down teammates. I’ve lost too many games when a random fuse teammate ults towards the safe zone to trap the enemies but end up trapping us as well while we’re stuck in the ring running to safety.
This blow my mind that they actually wanted fuse to be really strong at launch lmao
Now I wonder about his ability to sing and rock grey hair
His Ult should be renamed to “Through the Fire and Flames” and make it a huge fire wall
His ult needs to create a ring that goes vertically too it’s just to easy to escape and only useful indoors and even then you may just end up killing yourself if you don’t do it right.
Same here! I thought that too
I've was convinced by the ring flare event, his ult was supposed to launch the flare beacon and they introduced the event to see if it could work in game. Tactical is lack luster but always having a "grenade" is pretty nice.
Does anyone else wish his tactical worked a little more like revenant's by how fast you can shoot it out and fire while aiming?
