Day 1: We informed him the new bed was for a puppy, not him. Day 2: He insisted the bed was his. Month 3: He still insists the bed is his.

Well clearly doggo has outgrown the bed and it perfectly fits the kitty.
Can confirm, it is now kitty’s bed (and apparently always was). But we definitely didn’t buy it for him, since he previously ignored every bed we got him lol

Springers are the best. Our tuxedo cat loves to snuggle with my 2 girls. My son's cat will snuggle with his boy, but only when he is asleep so she doesn't get caught.
Does your dog LOVE the kitty, kitty not so enthused? That is what happened when we added a puppy into the cat’s household. It was pretty cute how much she adored the cat.
That’s how it was for the first month or so. Now they seem to love each other equally!

My puppy claimed the sitting bag of my sister on her first day and is still using it now as her daily sleeping place, 7 years later. My sister never got her bag back.
Kinda looks like it’s THEIR bed, and it’s happiness all around.
Can confirm but in opposite. Cat wouldn’t use bed, new friend claimed it, cat dive bombs new friend every time she can. New friend has now learned to lick the cats butt. Peace is in the world.
