Our jack russell loves pine cones! He used to get them and pull off all of the petals leaving a core. When we had our pine tree cut down the crew thought I was nuts when I started collecting the cones in boxes. Then they saw him going crazy for them. One of the guys spent time tossing pine cones for the dog to chase. Downside is that the chewing actually damaged his teeth over the years.
