Mine passed when he was 11. I got him when I was 6, died when I was 17. I grew up with him. I'm 23 now and I steel weep at least once a month.
Damn, OP's cast was the same age as me. Feels weird. I'm glad they got to enjoy her company for such a long amount of time.

god bless you. my heart breaks for you as i can't imagine the pain and suffering you are enduring after the loss of such a relationship. think back to the first time you held her and i'm sure it feels like just yesterday...then all the things you shared over thsoe 23 years, all the personal growth and change, the ups and downs, the joy the sorrow and it tears your heart into a thousand pieces.

My original baby, Sully, died when he was about 7ish and it broke me when it happened. He was like my son. Shortly before though we got another cat, Molly, and since his passing she's become his replacement in alot of ways. They're very similar personality wise and have to thank them both immensely for helping my depression over the past 10 or so years. Molly is now coming up to 5 I think and I pray to the universe she loves to an age such as 23.
Very lucky girl/boy to live a quarter of century with a loving family. What helps me cope is knowing that when my cat Kirby passed, he gave two new kittens the opportunity to join my family and are guartanteed a good life with me. And the cycle will go on until I'm gone.
My girl is nearing 21. The oldest living cat made it to 38 and 4 days, so I think I have about 20 more years, but I treat each day as her last. Godspeed sweet Misha!
