Scheduled wet food feedings with lots of exercise. Took six months of daily hard work but we’re here! He’s the most active out of my three cats so he was the easiest, the other two still have a bit of work to do
My mom says I’m insensitive and have a heart of stone for rationing their food and denying treats. In reality, I love my cats like my children and everything I do is for their own good. I spare no expense, try to give them the best of everything and when it comes to dieting, I’ve realized that part of loving them means understanding that food does not equal love, and when I say no, I do it for their sake. I still give them the occasional treat, just not every day. Successfully dechonked one of my cats already, and my mom recognizes she’s looking and feeling better now, yet she maintains she could never manage their food like I do, with an iron grip.
This is beautiful. I’m glad your cat is doing well. Wish my grandparents would stop making their pets fat. Giving their dogs hamburgers is normal to them. When will my grandparents get the massage, that people food is not good food for dogs and cats?
Details! How did you do it?

Five pounds! He is 12 pounds now, but he’s a naturally big boy
New to this sub. How hard is it psychologically to say no to the treat demands?
