You've only given the vaccine to the foundation and the crater, so anyone outside those groups is in risk of infection. This doesn't just include blood eagles, cultists and solo scavengers, you don't even give the BOS the vaccine, so unless the foundation gave them some, the BOS is also spreading the plague. Also other smaller groups like the hellcats and blue ridge caravan travel across the wasteland and could be spreading the plague outside WV.
I believe you can bring it up with the BOS about inoculation, but I cannot remember what their reply was.
Not even that. Can't assume everybody get's the vaccine for it. Random people coming into Appalachia likely getting it.
Though the scorched should definitely not be around in any large way anymore. The SBQ is canonically dead.
The only reason they're around still is because of the main story, which even then probably should be removed at some point or recontextualized
Yeah, it still kind of works in the storyline for the next couple of calendar year hops, whenever they happen. The existence of Nuka Scorched doesn't magically make the existing Scorched cases go away. And I imagine distribution of the new cola is hit or miss with the new settlers coming in, anyway. "Hello, newcomer! Buy this new Nuka My Blood's In It! It'll keep you from getting a disease you've never heard of that only exists here..."
Some level 60 gave me a nuka cola vaccine lol. I thought it was funny bc maybe he though my character was ugly like a scorched or something.
damn, you could say he "scorched" you with that one....
please laugh my puns are so funny
Have a wild idea. After both stories are beat turn scorched into raiders for those who beat the story. Have the sprites stay the same for those who have not. They could have the same damage and attack. Just different animations but move/attack at the same speed
That's actually really clever.
Although I read a sci-fi story once that involved people experiencing entirely different realities like the "how do we know we both call the same colour red?" On steroids.
And it's given me the extertenial heebeejeeebeees ever since.
Political satire aside, those with the Scorched Plague who were recently infected don't turn over night or a week, but rather like a month. I mean given the lack of Blood Eagle uniformed Scorched, it seems even they drank the vaccine, likely from stolen shipments, but still. Also we can see on most of their outfits they appear to be former service members, medical workers, or travelers. We do see a couple scorched members from the older factions who died out, but given we don't know their numbers pre-downfall we can't account for all of their scorched infected members having died off yet. On top of that, the scorched only last for so long before their bodies begin to solidify and crumble to ash and dust.
Are there scorched PA users? It so ive never seen one. I know there are communist ghouls who use them but a scorched PA would be different. I guess they probably wouldn't have the mental faculties to replace spent cores. Then again a lot of them seem to know how to reload a gun
The new Scorched are people that did their own research.
The new Scorched are former humans who took medical advice from politicians instead of doctors.
Yeah. My doctor said lay off the soda.
I hope eventually they reduce the population of the scorched and keep them to very specific areas, like the Cranberry Bog.
I'm just curious of the ramifications for story and that if they do that, they'd have to change the entire storyline for an ever developing world
Obviously there’s a whole fissure of SBQ’s… the latest nuke just releases the Queen that the last nuke created. And Earle obviously regenerates between encounters, consuming all the glowing wendigos we slaughtered the last time. And clearly there’s a factory somewhere pumping out Imposter Sheepsquaches…
Actually in the steel reign update they provide a reason for all the imposter sheepsquatch we see ever time someone starts encrypted.
would be illogical to assume that a virus is not gonna mutate in a world where everything else does...
I personally have at least 3 mutations and they dont close the airports when they see me coming!
^(Mainly because the Airports haven't been running for like 25 years...)
You literally know what the ingredients are though... They should be fine with drinking that.
We know. Random Crater Raider or solitary settler that hasn't been to Foundation doesnt.
Are there anti-vaxxers in Appalachia?
Trying to make a silly joke don't kill me >.>
Yes but we call them 'Scorched'.
Idk I think its because all of the people not trusting my inoculation, maybe I could have picked a better branding.......(hides nuka my bloods in it label)
Blood Eagles only drink Fight Milk for the crowtein, it gives them the awesome power to fight like a crow. If you want to vaccinate them they will need to start drinking New and Improved Fight “It’s got my blood in it” Milk with growth hormones…
Geez maybe this is where the super mutants come from.
You bring up an interesting question though.
Who inoculated the Blood Eagles? Are they, in fact, inoculated?
I still love that I have Nuka Cola: My Blood's in it! as a shirt from Bethesda.
How amazed the devs must have been when real life reflected the game. A plague literally brought on by giant winged bats. Now variants ? Hits too close to home.
If there's one thing I could ever ask them about, it would actually be that. How surreal must that have been?
Even though the warning signs were out there among disaster experts, I certainly never expected to experience a worldwide plague in my lifetime, and I'm sure the developers didn't either.
Death Stranding gets a lot of credit for being this weirdly prescient game about 2020, what with its lone deliveryman crossing a deadly landscape to deliver packages to isolated bubbles of civilization. But Fallout 76 belonged right there with it, if people were paying attention to its storyline.
I still won’t go inside the Super Duper Mart without a Skull Lord gas mask on. Also because the doors are still boarded up.
no, the game just spawns Scorched units, it doesn't turn regular units into Scorched. /s
You never fought a queen have you?
Joke aside nothing is more terrifying then getting ambushed by a fog crawler who the. Mutated into a scorched crawler mid fight cause of a flying bat
I feel like I look through the comments I will see a comment about other plagues that have variants.
Ah so we're experiencing the delta variant
It's those damn wasteland Karens saying the the vaccine is a hoax and that scorch plaque doesn't exist
No one told Foundation or Crater that they had to have a second bottle of Nuka Cola My Blood is in it 8-12 weeks after drinking the first bottle. Plus large scale events still happen. Have you seen the number of people without masks or practicing safe social distancing at Scorched Earth, or Feed the People? I mean, seriously. It's like the Scorched Plague was made up or something...🙄😆
Tbf most people are in PA at Scorched Earth so I'd assume that counts lol
Yea what do you guys think the vaccine hesitancy numbers are in post-apocalyptic Appalachia
Depends on which area of the map they're located. Seems like maybe the southern area has more hesitancy than the northern area. That's a guess based on the sheer number of scorched down there. 😎
These people just don't know about the smooth, fresh taste of Nuka Cola With-My-Blood-In-It^^tm now with 40% more Flavr-Chunks^^tm !
Spoiler, fallout predicted covid
I'm surprised there is not a sect of cultists against the scorched vaccine
Meanwhile in the real WV they had great success rolling out the Vax.
The people of Appalachia should just wear (gas) masks lol
Probably the least discussing thing my char has drank.
This is why my character still wears a facemask in game, even after I completed the vaccination quest.
Vaccines are a agenda by the government to cotrol your mind! Look at all the vaccinated vault dwellers, all stooges of the Enclave!
There’s 100% people that won’t take the vaccinations because they think it’s just government brain washing and that the scorch plague doesn’t actually exist
How long does it take to build immunity after getting a scorched plague inoculation? Do I need to get a scorched plague booster?
8-12 weeks, but with more data might need a booster after depending on you flavor of vax. 😉
Is there less scorch after you do that quest? Feels like it to me.
If you are aware of the Dragon Age series, then think of the Scorched as Dark Spawn.
What we see on the surface is only a small number, there are more (and possible larger?) forces underground with the Scorch Beasts...
Actually, they're exactly like the Dark Spawn.
Not everyone wants the FEV, gonna build a wall around Whitesprings.
There's something to this post, but I just can't put my finger on it...
Those vault dwellers just wanna make everyone ingest microchips so that they can track them for all of the experiments they do.
Everyone knows the real way to cure scorched plague is to take a nice hot bath in that brown water from the toxic valley until you start to glow or get eaten by a snallygaster. Have you ever seen a scorchbeast in the toxic valley? The homeopathic properties in the water there keep them away, that's why.
I'm still hoping that one day they put us in cryo chambers, then wake us up a few hundfed years later when all the scorched are gone.
Nah it's because Boris Johnson is still running the UK so we have a new varient every week. And getting us citizens to take a vaccine is nigh on impossible.
I can't believe that we live in a reality where people won't take simple steps to save their and other people's lives because the wrong old white dude told them to.
The scorched want to watch out with all these variants. The TVA are on to them!
