Ouch. Yes, I used to be creative about a hundred million years ago. I used to paint and draw (not very well, but I enjoyed it). I also played guitar and wrote songs... again - not brilliantly, but well enough to derive some joy. I used to work in a creative medium too, way back in the jurassic era. Now I'm just a big fat slug that does fuck all except moan at the news and occasionally shout at clouds.
I really liked the image so I found out some more info.

Here's the video he made of the year in images:

OP/Photographer must live in a Northern climate (probably not NE US) Here in the Southern US, there’d be a lot more green months and some fall leaf color changes. i don’t recognize the these types of trees trees - but idk much about trees in general.
Am I the only one that's puzzled at how the lines of the branches flow seamlessly from one photo to the next? Like, really? No wind to sway the branches out of place? That the outlines of individual leaves, never-mind branches, carry from one day to the next?
This was one of the first posts I ever saw on reddit.
Edit - why does my profile say 3 years? I’ve been on here almost a decade. Anyway I saw this post a long long time ago.
Can you please make another version where you alter the season with each frame? So instead of summer all grouped together, the lines would go winter, spring, summer, autumn, winter etc

thanks for the photo. sorry to ramble.

That's been my computer background image for the last half year.
Have you ever counted how many slices there are?
I wish I had an ounce of creativity

Knew this had to be Norway, with so little green.
I really liked the image so I found out some more info. I wonder if he'll do a video about how he made the blog post.
I never thought about how quick the transition from leafless trees to green trees and back again is.
Exactly my thought! Spring and autumn are so brief.
OP/Photographer must live in a Northern climate (probably not NE US) Here in the Southern US, there’d be a lot more green months and some fall leaf color changes. i don’t recognize the these types of trees trees - but idk much about trees in general.
It's in Norway lol
Damn, that's a long winter.
Reminds a lot of where I live (northern Illinois) summer and winter are very long drawn out seasons, spring and fall are just little slivers of time.
This would be a sick poster!
Would be a cool time-lapse as well
It’s pretty cool how fall looks cut in half.
This really shows how short trees/pants are green throughout the year.
My short pants are green all year.
Looks like a Radiohead album
Judging by the amount of white in this picture, you live WAY too far north for my taste :D But awesome picture
way way too much winter in your part of the world
I wonder if this isn’t a way to judge seasonal progression in a place by giving a visualization of the length of each season
Am I the only one that's puzzled at how the lines of the branches flow seamlessly from one photo to the next? Like, really? No wind to sway the branches out of place? That the outlines of individual leaves, never-mind branches, carry from one day to the next?
Right? And the snow during the winter months is all the same height - shouldn't there be higher/lower levels on different days?
Great pic depicting the short duration of an actual growth season in a year
Screw you winter.
Shows how shitty a year is, 60% winter, 80% no leaves
Wow! How what an amazing idea! Looks like the seasons in my location. Too much winter!
So whatever place this is has snow on the ground the ENTIRE winter?
Very intereesting well done photo.
How wide is each “slice?”
Seems like more than 365 slices
You should count the slices just to be sure.
For a split second I thought this was a post in r/applehelp
reminds me of the opening sequence to Horimiya
What the fuck was happening on April 9th
Do you have 365 of these?
If I was given a piece of this picture every time I saw it I would have like 2 of these pictures by now
At what time of the day though?
Yes.
Some one play the Minecraft music
If I had even an ounce of the patience needed to compile this, maybe I would be able to follow a task through from start to finish
Very well done!
Dang this would be the worst job to be late in
OP found the tesseract from Interstellar.
Could this be categorized under FFT image processing?
Wonder what it would look like with horizontal slices.
Must have been a nightmare having to move your camera a few mil every day
Moving the camera would be making more work than required. Same shot, different slice of the progression from left to right.
thought this was gonna be one of those super high res images
This is a dumb and obvious observation, but I like how everything is sandwiched by snow because the year starts and ends on winter
Summer’s too short
Every day for a year? I bet there must be a million photos in there!
Interesting idea and amazing dedication; kinda boring subject, but what else can you photograph every single day except your back yard?
This reminds me of the "His Dark Materials" TV programme introduction....
I like this
I saved this so later I can give you my free award!
A diagonal slice through spacetime
100% I wont be able to take pic like this, place I live in is permanent summer all year round...
A slice of life...
This looks like a scene out of porter robinsons music video for "Something Comforting"
I wish I had creative talent like this!
Brilliant.
Not a lot of sun and blue sky.
Lotta friggin winter in there.
Looks like an emancipator album cover.
This is amazing and absolutely beautiful!
Where was this taken?
So...much...winter...
[removed]
thank you! would be nice if you can add a timeline on the bottom, and what part of the world this is located.
It's amazing how abrupt the change i seasons look
Why is there so much WINTER
This shit again.
in austria we call this „hobbylos“nah i’m joking it looks great.
Sell these
Can you spot the deer?
this looks like ass and does t look like a picture at all
curious is there a script for this? Doing it manually doesn't look like fun.
Is there any 4k version of this photo?
OH MY GOD
I doubt there was snow on the ground for the whole winter
This was one of the first posts I ever saw on reddit. Edit - why does my profile say 3 years? I’ve been on here almost a decade. Anyway I saw this post a long long time ago.
I always seems like it goes to full green fast!
Wow, how did they manage to take such thin photos. I can't find the setting on my phone.
Wow
Spring and Autumn seem really short. And Winter particularly long.
Is this what seeing in the 4th dimension is like?
Can you please make another version where you alter the season with each frame? So instead of summer all grouped together, the lines would go winter, spring, summer, autumn, winter etc
That’s a tedious master class in collage. I bet it took a year to put that together.
Minecraft bioms be like?
Spring is on the left correct?
Winter spring summer fall winter

One slice for every time this has been posted you mean
Hmm idk man, some things look too consistent, like small leafs or the snow
