Necron tech is getting weirder and weirder...
Assemble the tech priests!
Every time I see a tensegrity post my brain just refuses to accept it. Great job OP
I can get my brain to accept it for a few seconds and then I lose it again. Like a Magic Eye puzzle that i can't quite retain focus on.
That neon green lego color is one of my favorite shades of color. It reminds me of lego, Star Wars, ninja turtles..
> It reminds me of lego, Star Wars, ninja turtles..
rock raiders / power miners here
edit: anyone knows if there's a way to play the rock raiders pc game on a modern os?
Is this what is usually called a tensegrity system?
The inner child in me is not understanding the physics of this hahaha
The bottom of the C makes the top of the C want to fall backward (like <-C). The chain hookup at the top of the C prevents it from falling backward because it is hooked to a stationary object.
It's easier to wrap your head around it by thinking of the object as hanging from the lower part of the C (because it is)
Basically this is the same as just having 1 really big C, because the tension chains are more or less one long tension chain.
Not sure what this is, but I’m in
It's a tensegrity. They're really cool.
Someone touch it, I wanna see it jiggle
Wait what subreddit is this again?
_The construction wants to collapse but cant due to constant stress_
Don't we all?
Here at Tensegrity Farms, we care about providing your family with the alarmingly counterintuitive architectural structures they need.
Would this be considered a fortysegrity if a single one is a tensegrity?
Wow the neon green really makes it look magical
that transparent neon yellow-green is my favorite color Lego
What the Kentucky fried fuck am i seeing?
That is fucking satisfying
This gives me the weirdest anxiety I’ve ever experienced
Does it wiggle? When you move it? I hope it wiggles. It looks like it wiggles.
it wiggles : )
We should build IRL building like this.
and when a wind blows on it, everyone's going to die?
Tensegrity. I think I get it now.
Is this like the same concept as those floating chairs and coffee tables?
I think so; it is called tensegrity
Stairway to pain
I don't know why, but seeing this made with lego somehow makes it far more understandable to me lmao.
Somebody, someday is going to build the "Golden Gate Tensegrity Bridge" in sweden and I'm going to shit my pants
Can you go higher?
I don't know. If you reinforce the bottom pieces maybe. But that's all the chains I have so I couldn't try if I wanted.
you can keep posting this and I'll still refuse to understand it, good job
The first 100 comments say this is "tensegrity". Great- TIL about tensegrities. But, is this particular one from a movie or a game? Looks like it could be a spaceship or something.
It is not inspired by anything in particular. I just thought I'd go for a "futuristic" vibe bc I had those neon green chains.
I gotta make this now. I don't suppose you have a part list or anything?
i'm not sure what this is but it looks cool as hell
Someone explain to me what the fuck is happening here
Tension in the chains is the structural support.
This is awesome. Good job.
Lego has chains now?
My mind is just... Like...
That's some Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey shit!
Why not crossposting then ?
I tried but it didn't work at first ( i think bc I wanted to add a oc flair) but when i noticed i had already posted it
Ok now that's cool as hell
This makes my head hurt.
OMG I'm losing my mind!
Tensegrity never fails to amaze me
Well you’re right I do like it
This guys just said “Fuck you gravity”
Did you say lego
A structure like this exists within real life architecture?
The physics in this update lookin a little buggy
Would be interesting to draw arrows where the forced balances out, to understand visually better. Can a nerd here do this please?
Can you now suspend something from the top tier lowest point?
Lockdown day 423
Very impressive and interesting.
#BLACK MAGIC FUCKERY
That's gotta be a lot of stress on those components. Did you glue the pieces together?
I love physics.
Especially when people seem to break them.
it's not perpetual motion if you have to keep adding levels to keep it up
For anything that is InterestingAsFuck
