The history of this is actually quite interesting. Around the time that phineas and ferb was in development, the average length for an animated show on the Disney channel was 52 22 minute episodes before the show was cancelled. Because phineas and ferb had 2 11 minute episodes in the same time slot they doubled that number to 104. (Thus 104 days of summer vacation) however the show became so popular that Disney extended the run of the show. This gave rise to the joke “This summer seems like it has lasted four years” by Dr. Doofenshmirtz

In the movie Across the second dimension, they literally found out how to create gateways to other dimensions with no side effects. They should be given their own funding, a lab, and a fucking noble prize!!

Oh. Was it all supposed to take place over one summer? I thought their adventures happened, like, every summer, over the course of 4 years.
Part of me has a theory that the Do-Over-inator from the finale had something to do with the summer seemingly lasting more than 104 days. Basically, it was somehow turned on around the start of summer, causing the months to have more days by going back in the calendar every so often. Activating it in the finale simply sped up the time-loop, and destroying it caused time to return to its normal spot. Perhaps it also caused all of the more fridge horrifying status quo preservations to be undone, while still keeping the memories intact.

Actually there’s 127 episodes, (130 counting Act Your Age, P&F Star Wars, The O.W.C.A Files, & Tales from the Resistance.) but also the 2 movies, they would count as a day or two of summer. Then there’s the 2nd part of each episode, so technically each episode covers 2 days of summer. So there’s about 256 days in counting. Edit: 126 episodes
