Ngl this is me, I always go first. It sets a low standard for the others presenting making them feel better. And I wanna get it over with.
Agreed, having nobody go before you means you can do terrible and nobody will have anything to compare it to, so you end up looking average.
Always go first. Multiple reasons:
1: yours is forgotten quickest. Nobody will remember how well or badly you did yours after the whole class presents.
2. You can mess up and nobody will be able to compare you. If you DO mess up, everyone else knows it’s normal and expected. If you go after some really well-presented classmate, you’ll look foolish in comparison if you make a big mistake.
3. No room for doubt. In case someone else has a similar topic or format to their presentation nobody can doubt your credibility because you took the chance and owned it first. Makes you look very poignant.
And of course the reason I choose to go first, to get it over with quickly and not die of nervousness or anticipation
Do it first and get it out of the way.
Once, I was given a presentation to do in two weeks about fruit. We all had to choose a fruit. Everyone was prepared, except me. I completely forgot about it until the day of presentation. I frantically drew a pear, and figured I’d have time to think of improvising. I was the first one called up because no one volunteered.
Imagine my teacher’s face when I don’t use his computer to pull up the presentation, but instead, I take a piece of tape and slap it onto the board with my crappy pear drawing. Imagine everyone’s face when I accidentally give a genuine, five minute presentation about pears, without stuttering or freaking out.
Imagine my face when no one else volunteers, and my teacher straight up tells me, “Since you’re the only one who went up, and you technically covered everything you needed to, I’ll give you a B.”
damn that really is me.
Our teacher legit used to give the person who went first a better mark because of it just because nobody went first.
Still, nobody went first and she had to draw the sticks
Drawing sticks gives me nightmares
Go first, and you won't have to suffer through the waiting period; after your presentation, you can sit back and relax...
Always go first. Gets rid of the anxiety of waiting and then you don’t run the risk of being forced to go after some nerd who tried way to hard
Jokes on you I always tried too hard and I went first.
i like to go at the middle part not first but not last either
I was always that guy LMAO.
I like making big presentations and going first once. Sometimes people like it because I can waste a whole class
I am an introvert, but I usually give my presentations first so that the teacher doesn’t start just randomly picking kids.
Yes you described me?
Well thats me
this is me, go first and there's no expectation, then you get to chill for the rest of the presentations.
You know the way everyone votes someone to go up
I vote myself....
if you go first everyone else is to worried about presenting their own project that they hardly pay attention to you and by the time the next person presents they would have already forgot about you
Nah i just go first so I get it over with
My major is architecture and each class there’s a critic and honestly i hate the feeling before i present but when i do it it feels so good that i did it. You just have to stay calm and focus really and presenting first actually takes a lot of pressure off of you
Wait and see how the first 2 do it then do yours 3rd
I usually go either second or second to last
I was always just proud of my work lol
I had too go first because my teacher hated me, and it was on Marshmallow and everybody hated it.... Sad
You present first, there's no one to base off of how well you did. You tend to score better.
In my spanish class last year no one wanted to go first, and i have the most anxiety out of everyone in my class. But me and my group volunteered to go first and we ended up getting an extra 5 points on our presentation because of it
i'd always go first because i *liked* presenting
then there was this one time we had like six weeks to work on making this video or smth. didn't do any of the actual work except like writing my own music for it until the last three days
did all the work in two days
got asked to present last because of how standard-shattering it was
Honestly if I volunteer my teacher will give me extra points sooooo
Go first! Especially if you know you will go over a time limit, just looks like nerves and you'll save other classmates who are not prepared that day. Or, if you just happened to be excited about your topic, you get to be passionate and relax/entertain.
I’m the guy who would draw it out to take up all of the period just to give the guys who I know didn’t do it more time. The longest presentation I did was a 33 slide report on Chernobyl that drew out for 2 days. I only got a B on it though.
A way of describing cultural information being shared.
