Ok my buddy Jojo McProcess needs to chill out. MVP I hope he can get but Goebert is just pretty much guaranteed all team defense. I kind of want the Jazz to win to show that 4 ranged and 1 tank can 5 man their way to the title. Donovan sort of hybrid ranged/melee but you get my point.
See you in the Finals I hope? Or will the NBA make LeBron get MVP AND another title?
I hope I didn't curse you in the WCF now.
I mean I think the Jazz could beat damn near any team in a 7 game series with the way they're playing right but the Lakers are that one team where I would be scared as hell. Mostly because I have no idea what their answer to AD is.
I just don't see any other argument for DPOY. As good as Embiid and Simmons have been, they at least have each other. You could put Rudy with any assembly of average perimeter defenders and it instantly becomes a top offense. The guy is an all-time defensive juggernaut
Yeah the Jazz as a team is built around Gobert being an anchor down low. Joel and Ben compliment each other really well and Ben is probably the best 1-5 defender in the league but Gobert is just so unstoppable down low that it doesn't matter
The Stifle Tower indeed. I like when teams actually go at him, it’ll be spectacular no matter which way it goes. Too often he just keeps them away from the rim through presence and that can get boring.
If you watch a lot of jazz games you will see almost everybody drive hard to the rim to only find Gobert there and then turn around and reset the play. Players nope out more often then trying to get one past him. Especially in the restricted area.
I take issue with this- Gobert has given Jokic fits in the past, but people only remember the most recent shit. They definitely go back and forth but when Jokic scores a bunch it gets headlines and people remember and bring it up endlessly, but if you go back you will see games where Jokic absolutely couldn't get shit done but "holding Jokic to X points" doesn't really stir up the same attention.
Now its true that recently Jokic gets the better of the matchup and he should get praise for that, its truly impressive. But it should not be seen as some sort of career long weakness of Rudy. They both keep "solving" each other. If anything its the unstoppable force and immovable object trading small eras of owning each other.
It was a sick play, but I wish you worded the title differently lol. I definitely think Rudy should be the DPoY but let’s stop pushing the agenda on r/nba

Jazz been on a 22-2 run against the Hornets in the fourth quarter, jesus christ.
The Jazz just figured out if you don’t just give the ball to the other team you can win.
"too small" - said gobert
“Utah but I’m taller.” - Gobert
This was his worst game of the season until it wasn't. The man is just an all time paint protector
Those arms are a cheat code jesus christ
Hornets were leading by 11 in the 3rd at one point what happened
Watch OP's post on loop about 20 times. That's what happened.
This play got me so fucking hyped man. This dude is easily the best defender in the NBA.
Can't wait to play you guys.

This guys is hands down the DPOY, nothing will change my mind
[deleted]
Rudolph Gobert.
Rodrigo Gobert
This is so damn impressive.
Making his case? LOL the only question is if he will be unanimous at this point like Clarkson for 6MOY
Am I crazy or does the first one look like a pass
No not crazy. We need more angles in the replay
Get the fuck out x2
[deleted]
"Sacré bleu!", as it's known in my house.
Conley looks different here
Conley is actually wearing a Niang mask in this clip.
Idk if DPOY has ever been unanimous but if the season ended now it probably would be
KOC said he would vote Simmons at the start of the week

i mean i dont think anyone else even has a case do they? its unanimous at this point lol
Still a good half season to play but yeah, not even close right now.
1st team all defense!
His recovery time on that second block is just phenomenal
Cody Zeller man.....shave that hair off, jesus christ.
I don't understand why people care so much about this.
Oh

Come on. What’re we talking about here.
At this point he’s pretty much got it locked in given their form and record
At this point, is it safe to say that guarding Jokic remains to be one of the only weaknesses of Gobert?

No agenda to push lol he's the runaway dpoy
