I keep seeing this meme and the maple syrup and the shoes keep switching spots
Literally nobody gave a fuck about Aunt Jemima logo, except for some terminally online SJWs and [people whos job it is to write articles like that](https://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2015/06/24/besides-the-confederate-flag-what-other-symbols-should-go/can-we-please-finally-get-rid-of-aunt-jemima). I seriously have problem finding any sign of actual boycott, criticism or "cancelling" before 2020, when Quaker decided to get some of that sweet sweet racial justice clout by announcing the change of logo.
Compare that to Lil Nas X. Literal hours after music video and shoe announcement dropped, conservative spaces were already filled with outrage.
So they created this strawman of Purple Haired Antifa Communist Feminists and Soyboys being triggered and strong-arming companies into changing their logos. While in reality, all of the last years corporate changes (Potatohead, Dr. Seuss books and Jemima) were companies doing those decisions themselves unprompted, for whatever reason.
Both of these things are nothing but outrage marketing. And as we know, from Keurig, Gillette, Nivea, Nike, etc. there is one group you can poke and get bunch of free marketing, and its not SJWs. Marketers are playing conservatives like a damn fiddle.
I also like the focus on the drop of blood.
what is the actual issue there? was there an issue with the blood drawing practices of team MSCHF or something?
Note: i haven't seen that claim being made, I just can't fathom what else it could really be that's so wrong about the blood drop.
Religious fruitcakes where indoctrinated into their beliefs with fantasy logic. That communion is literally the blood and body of Christ for example. Blood has significant meaning in (Christian) scripture and so to them it translates into demonic worship given the context. Of course they are wishy washy with it like everything else, and extreme faith practice like this is rapidly dying out thanks to their own rampant hypocrisy.
I'm 46 and I pretty much gave up on the indoctrination when I was about 8 but I was compelled by my parents to continue until 16.
I'm probably getting some of this wrong because I've forgotten more than I remember.
Anyways I remember some things: all mankind are sinners; do not judge as only God may judge; turn the other cheek to evil and love your enemies.
So these concepts blended together pretty much spell out: you should expect man to sin, and it is wrong (within the rules of Christianity) for a Christian to be intolerant to evil if man. Let evil attack you and love the evil in return.
Like I said I don't remember very much of it because I basically gave it all up. Hope I'm not too off base.
Christians don’t actually follow the bible, they use the idea of it to control the masses.
It's a shame they're limited edition. I'd fucking love a pair.
And it's a shame they're so damn expensive. I'll have to wait for the knockoffs to come out
Last I checked, conservatives were angry about both but they are especially angry about the shoes.
I thought the food rebranding trend was annoying but I could care less about the shoes.
I thought the top one was supposed to be the attitude of conservatives before the rebranding
What if God was made up by Satan so that people will always believe in him?
What’s wrong with aunt jemima? :(
How about we keep both because I don’t think grown ass people should be freaking out about shoes and motherfucking maple syrup
^^Beep ^^boop, ^^I'm ^^a ^^bot. ^^- ^^[FAQ](https://pastebin.com/raw/vyWra3ns)
What's the shoe thing about? Is it about Nike and China or something?
it has blood in the pumps and there’s a satan star thing hanging by the laces. all for novelty obviously. but religious people tend to take novelty as scripture; very seriously.
It's not even real maple syrup, why would you have been buying it in the first place?
And it's hard enough finding comfortable shoes when the old pair you bought isn't in production anymore, brand loyalty is meaningless if they simply don't make a reasonably-priced, well-fitting shoe.
I don't get it. Can someone please explain?
Religious people aren't a fan of these satan shoes, and some people that say "if you don't like it then don't buy it" are being hypocritical
People that are against the satan shoes, just remember that the same company that made them made the Jesus shoe.
If you can have something, we can have something.
Conservitave outrage = free marketing
Wait so what's the deal with the Nikes?
Rapper lil nas x customized shoes with satanic symbol and a "real drop of human blood in the sole" for resale; nike sued to stop them from tarnishing the brand; religious fruitcakes think the devil is in these shoes because of the symbolism (666 pairs sold, blood, pentagram?)
These aren't actually made by Nike. They're a pair of real Nike shoes that have been individually modified. As usual, conservatives can't even get their boycotts right.
And of course they're all up in arms about a devil shoe, but they had no problem supporting Trump who openly bragged about creeping on girls undressing at both his Miss USA and Miss \*TEEN\* USA pageants (who were underage minors at the time) and referring to himself as "the second coming of God" in a quote on twitter, and who the GOP and RNC made a literal golden idol out of which they paraded at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
The same is the case the other way around. Nobody really wanted to remove aunt Jemima. By doing that, the company successfully erased the identity of the first successful American black female model who was an emancipated slave. I've seen more posts and comments on reddit about aunt jemima than this shoe, maybe the Religious fruitcakes we're denouncing here don't care about this shoe
It's important to note that the Aunt Jemima character predated Nancy Green, that many models were hired at one point or another for the role, and that the character was copied directly from minstrel shows. Down to the name. It would be like selling Lil Black Sambo Syrup.
Nancy Green should be remembered, but removing Aunt Jemima isn't erasing her identity. It's erasing a fictitious identity that she was at one point hired to represent, a character that was born from intensely racist stereotypes.
What the hell happened here?
Probably plenty of blood used to make those being that sowing machines are used and children operate them
That satanic shoe is dope
It’s also sad how much it took for them to be upset by Nike, somehow child slavery isn’t enough…
I wonna sell what cha buyen.
Do those Nikes have pentagrams on them?
And the shoes aren’t even made by Nike
Honestly the only people who have any right to be mad over this Lil Nas X thing are metalheads.
I'm sure metal heads don't actually care that someone else is using Satan as a marketing tool.
"Thats our gimmick!"
No one cares.
I'm so confused.
I mean personally I find the shoes a little creepy but that’s j my opinion, I’m not freaking out and telling everyone else not to buy it tho
I thought they were worse back when I thought there was like a window where you see a big tub of blood sloshing around.
this meme goes both ways lmao
Not seen a single person freaking out about the syrup though
Funny, I saw the same image but the difference is that the images swapped places
Except one is a racist idea that came out of him crow effects, whereas the other is over a fucking music video
god, I hate that knock-off maple syrup shit. it disgusts me to no end. I have been forced to use it due to the fact that I can't afford the good shit, and it shows. It's like drinking fucking battery acid swear to god.
Gotta ask. I've only seen gotcha posts about people being annoyed by something that'd have been considered edgy 20 years ago. Is there actually anyone that sees these as anything other than childish? Never seen any outrage, only memes about how people are outraged.
[This YouTube law channel](https://youtu.be/GuYd4RP0_qk) explains the whole lawsuit very well, including the Jesus shoes and all the ways you can legally fuck with TradeMarks. It should be a very interesting suit.
Oh boy, what did nike do now ?
I saw this meme 20 times in 3 days and I still dont get it
Isn’t it kinda weird to sell some human blood?
Where does the drop of blood come from tho?
Can someone explain this to me?
Christians are mad that Lil Nas X made Satan Shoes
That’s it lmao
All things apart, those shoes look really cool.
Is it just me or is there a pentagram on that shoe
Omg! I didn't notice that. They say Satan himself influenced the creators to include his iconography.
