Don’t be a sheep, try herd immunity. Yup I’m clapping.
"....and also, uhh, liberty? Memes about lions?"
"....y-YEAH! And freedom! In addition to liberty! Plus lions! But not sheep!"
*everyone claps louder and more aggressively*
"And why should THE GOVERNMENT be telling US what is and isn't socially destructive and dangerous?"
*people start firing guns at toilets and fucking in the aisles of CVS in a lustful frenzy*
"AND IF YOU LIKE THIS, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY FACEBOOK PAGE, WHICH IS FULL OF POSTS OF A SIMILAR CALIBER"
*a rash shaped like a cross spreads over everyone's faces*
That's an interesting way of saying how you were kicked out while everyone laughed how big of an idiot you are
everyone is the hero of their own tragedy.
But herd immunity just works when around 90% of people got the vaccine. I dont get how that's an argument in this case. No really if someone knows please explain.
It's not an argument in this case. This person is an idiot
The worker later committed suicide out off shame and the people who clapped created a cult around this person
Committing Sudoku is a helluva way to go.
"Went to CVS, employee politely asked me to wear a mask. Refused and he told me it was required to enter the store. Asked to speak to his manager, manager confirmed and asked me to leave when I still refused. Went home and made up a story about what happened in the angry fantasies I dreamed up on the drive home"
Or the very possible "I threw a fit at the door, and the worker decided he wasn't paid enough to deal with my shit and let me in so I could be the manager on duty's problem instead".
It’s crazy to me that people sit around and say “I’m gonna create a fake scenario and post it on Twitter” like, why?
Those sweet, life changing internet points
“Something something herd immunity”
“We shouldn’t be sheep”
Yea, and these people don't understand herd immunity at all.
And all the scanners started beeping
And the cash registers started shooting out mile-long receipts like a ticker-tape parade!
We should get herd immunity by not being sheep. Don't sheep have herds?
Sheep have flocks! Libtards owned!
The irony of telling people to embrace herd immunity while telling them not to be sheep is just too much for me lol
Why does every story like this involve clapping? I've literally never clapped at a stranger unless they're on stage and have just finished a performance.
Maybe because clapping is a meme and this story might be fake.
I mean, not that this happened, but wouldn't the people taking off their masks and clapping be the definition of "sheep"?
“Today I ruined a minimum wage employees day”
Then everybody clapped
Can confirm this is true. I was also applauding.
I've seen four or five variations of this same post and they always end up "clapping" in the end.
Why do people think their fake story is more real if the pretend people applaud for them? This NEVER actually happens anywhere in real life.
In real life, "look I just do what they tell me. Wear the mask, or I can't serve you."
I love the herd immunity mentality as if there aren’t long term health problems related to even having symptomless Covid.
I just hate the self importance of these idiots. They make it sound like as they started explaining whatever nonsense they believe a crowd formed around them to witness their genius.
Also theres something really funny to me about someone talking about herd immunity, but also saying to not be a sheep for some reason.
woman convinces covid>sheep
I love it when everyone claps.
It's funny how they always mention herd immunity when we literally rely on a substantially immunised population for this to work and protect those who can't be. In fact, that's literally what herd immunity *is*. So until at least 70% of the population is vaccinated against covid, herd immunity won't protect you from it and you should wear your mask.
Herd immunity... cuz that worked so well in the united kingdom
I want to make it clear that at no point did the Scottish government consider herd immunity as a viable option. They certainly did not act as well as they could have, but herd immunity was never a plan.
I believe this to be the same for the other devolved government health boards too, but am a lot less familiar with them. Either way, please do not lump us in with the Tories as we really are trying our best to get away from them.
I don't get it, what's herd immunity got to do with everything? There's not nearly enough people immune to the virus to stop wearing masks
Herd immunity. Don't be sheep. Sheep travel in herds (flocks).
Make up your mind.
"some people started clapping" = his shampoo bottles started clapping.
One does wonder why they always fucking clap at the end...
This shit a movie for them?
Because it's an unmistakable form of appraisal that their delusional brain says can't be misunderstood by the reader.
They are making sure that anyone who reads it can be as dumb as them and still understand that they were the protagonist in their delusion.
But... herd immunity is the idea that most people are vaccinated (or wearing masks) so that the people that *genuinely* can't are still protected
This person sucks at fake arguing
Wow! They were able to convince the healthcare workers at CVS that not wearing a mask is good for humanity? This person is incredible.
The only person in the whole town who knows about herd immunity. He's a celebrity now
It’s true, I was the shopping cart
It's true, I was the CVS receipt
Can confirm too, I had to apologize to the woman before clapping
The. Albert Einstein burst in the front door and started handing out $100% bills to the cheering crowd.
Since I've been wearing a mask I haven't gotten sick once this year, I usually get a few colds and a really bad chest cold but not this year. That should speak volumes on the effectiveness of masks and social distancing. I think even after all of this is vaccinated I'm still going to wear a mask while grocery shopping or being around a bunch of people.
I just like being able to hide half my face so people can't tell if I'm smiling or grimacing lol
Godamn people are stupid fucks
i cant believe we’re a year into this god damn pandemic and people are still making up stories like this
Nobody ever claps. Never. Except if you drop your plate in a cafeteria or diner...
I was there too -- the best part about it, other than the joy and applause, was getting to meet Albert Einstein (the worker who yelled at her).
Why do people do this? Even if the story was remotely believable, the bit about people clapping is always a dead giveaway. No one does that in real life.
Why did I have to read this? My day was going so well..
It's weird how many people think that anyone that diagrees with them is a 'sheep,' and how the only reason that anyone could disagree with them is because they'e been told to do so. I noticed this at my work, a lot of "they make you were that" and "you have to do this because they told you?" No one seems to believe I actually have a level of sentience and choose what to do, from wearing a mask to telling you to follow any particular rule. The rules are often for our safety (and I like keeping myself safe) not just there for no reason dumby.
And then she woke up from her wet dream.
Since when has Twitter become wattpad
Of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most
Don’t be a sheeple! Trust in the large heard to keep you safe!
why do people even try to tell stories that include clapping any more. This almost makes me think it's satire, it's way too on the nose.
>don’t be sheep
I was there, I was the mask
It’s true I’m the shee—oh wait
Why do they always clap though?
Soon Covid will only infect based on IQ
Just be another heard animal that's not a sheep? Duh.
Why so they always clap
Are these people real or are we at maximum circle jerk?
I used to work at a CVS, this would never happen. They are probably the type of person that makes a joke about the length of the receipt and I'd have to pretend it's funny while my soul dies.
She forgot the part when we raise the American flag, which of course we all saluted. A bald eagle flew down onto her arm ever so gracefully. And we all shot out guns in the air because we needed a reminder that this was America.
So some random person with no medical knowledge explains the concept of herd immunity in a PHARMACY? Atleast put some thought in your lie
What is their goal with making up these ridiculously stupid stories that are zero percent believable?
But if they're stupid enough to think being an anti mask idiot is heroic, then I guess they're stupid enough to think this will impress people.
We really need to start shaming people for being this stupid, to red letter A degrees. Go back to your swamp caves.
Convinces people to not be sheep by behaving like a herd.
Why? Why do people make this shit up? No one cares about your bullshit lies.
I don't think herd immunity works when no one is immune.
Ok, so recently I had a coworker die from COVID because of selfish people like this woman. You aren't wearing a mask for you, you're wearing a mask for everyone else.
My coworker died because an actively sick person tried to force their way into the store. He got COVID and died because of them.
Why does it feel like all these messages are written by the same person. Grammar, phrasing all seems... So similar.
if everyone was simultaneously clapping and taking off their masks, that means everyone was hitting themselves in the face.
There’s no way these are legit. I’ve seen so many of these that end the same way, they get their way and people clap for them. No one claps for these assholes
I’m kinda shocked that this is a woman for some reason
Seriously heard immunity is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. We just doing nothing and let people die so eventually the virus has to go away because if it was gonna kill you it's kill you re draft tijd around. Like who thought you know that's a good idea let people die
Herd immunity is a thing tho. But that’s for when you decide to get the vaccine, not to wear masks
Data scientist here, people who are spouting about herd immunity through infection, quantitatively, have zero concept of how unbelievably high the mountain is that needs to be climbed and, qualitatively, zero appreciation for the fact they are thoughtlessly gambling with other people’s lives (in addition to their own). In just two months, we’ve inoculated as many people as we’re infected and recovered in an entire year, and we’re are STILL MONTHS AWAY from here immunity. Which is a moving target. People don’t know that either. People are mostly (and by default) stupid, tbh.
I *want* to believe this is satire and not stupidity.
Jesus Christ full grown adults never evolved past their toddler fantastical storytelling.
Ah yes, "herd immunity", just let a virus run free that mutates every time it spreads to another person, so by the time it comes back round to you it's mutated enough that you can catch it again and have another chance at dying. Fun times.
The clapping gets me every time
Herd immunity does work. But if everyone avoids the vaccine then it won’t work... does this lady actualyl know what herd immunity is or is this just a term that gets thrown around now?
Herd immunity should only be practiced by individuals who, for some reason, cannot take the vaccine, i.e. babies (if babies can’t have the covid vaccine) or old people.
Herd immunity isn't something that you can practice. It's just math. No one should rely on herd immunity.
It works because to get sick you have to come into contact with someone who has the virus. People who are vaccinated cannot be carriers for the virus. I think that once 80-85 percent of people are vaccinated it becomes very hard to bump into another non-vaccinated individual (pseudo randomly). Because the infected person can't find enough non vaccinated people, outbreaks have trouble getting established and you end up very few cases.
Herd immunity only works if you stay within a heavily protected group. Go away on vacation and enter a non vaccinated population and whoosh... You are just another unprotected person. Even within your Herd you can be infected if you somehow interact with an infected person.
I’m surprised that someone would say herd immunity which implies a lot of trust in a vaccine but also deny the need for a mask. She hasn’t been caught up I guess on what she’s supposed to think.
Why do these people always think a store clerk is their oppressor?
Can we stop posting & promoting idiocy and bullshit please!!!!!?
Damn i miss hearing about Karen taking her kid to a nasa presentation where he corrected everyone and all the earth clapped now we’re stuck with”masks bad everyone clap”
Herd immunity, if everyone else wears a mask i don't need to, so we should all take off our masks and pray that someone is wearing one somewhere so we can ramble on about herd immunity. Also masks aren't immunity, and bringing it up means you know you are putting everyone in danger by not wearing masks.
Why do they always feel the need to say ‘and people started clapping’ ??? Who actually listens to strangers having a conversation and then clap because they like what they hear?
ffs this is why lock down is so long
Wouldn't being sheep be a good analogy for herd immunity since sheep can be herded.
Love people talk about herd immunity, sure guys sure, lets start by infecting your whole family and see whos gonna survive, fun game for antimaskers I qould definitely watch in TV!
Oh this guy I’m sure is a lot of fun at parties
To fabricate a story to make a fabricated point, MERICA !!
Didn't herd immunity happen during the black plague? Didnt half of Europe die in order for herd immunity to take place?
Why does everyone clap in all these storys
I hope the irony isn’t lost in the fact that we “shouldn’t be sheep” so we should become a herd
"people started clapping". Why is it always clapping? I've never seen another member of the public just burst out in applause in a store.
Why don’t these anti-maskers who get applause, ever get it on film? It seems like they all record when people are angry with them, but not when they agree? You would think that they would WANT to show how many people stand up and applaud!
Evidently the OP hasn't read any actual science about Covid 19. This isn't like other viruses. The only way to depress this type of coronavirus at the population scale is through mass vaccination.
Herd immunity works really well when most of the population is vaccinated
I'm sure she's PoSiTive this happened..
It’s true I was the masks
You know it’s gonna be a good story when it starts off with “...and of course a worker started yelling at me for not wearing a mask.”
Smallpox killed more than 300 million people in the 20th century alone. It emerged 3,000-4,000 years ago and was never defeated by herd immunity.
Just like Covid-19, the Smallpox virus spreads primarily through inhaled respiratory droplets released while sneezing, talking or coughing.
It was never defeated until a vaccine completely wiped it out.
Yup. Karen dreamed about while she was unconscious in a car accident because she refused to wear the mask in cvs and decided to park her car in aisle 14.
What’s up with these people and clapping? I feel like every lie these people tell has to do with people clapping for their opinion on a matter
Why is it always clapping for these people?
Why did you even cover her name? it's clearly Karen.
No it’s true I was the CVS worker
What do they call a group of sheep again?
“.... the worker apologized and let through.”
And then I woke up from my wet dream and begrudgingly began my miserable life where I don’t feel I have enough control over any aspect and I am completely unhappy, so I choose to take those negative feelings out on completely innocent, unrelated people simply because I can.
I was there and then the manager came in and fired the employee, and gave the person a $100 gift card
Sure Jan, I totally believe you. Everyone clapped at the end. This is a place for posting people telling outrageous tall tales that would make Walter Mitty proud.
