I don’t know where to find it, but there’s an edit of this comic where in the last panel, the comfort zone gets a little part sticking out, showing that leaving your comfort zone makes the comfort zone bigger.
The true lessons is that there were no actual dangers along the way except the ones we create for ourselves! In the words of some grandma I heard about on Reddit once, “it’s okay to be afraid. Get scared, then, DO IT ANYWAY!”
I relate to this comic quite a bit. And your comment reminded me of one of my favorite quotes, from the artist Georgia O'Keeffe:
"I've been absolutely terrified every moment of my life- and I've never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do."
I have this fear of asking people because I think that if I ask questions they will think I'm dumb even though I'm sure they don't think like that at all. Yesterday I had to go to a place which I have never been to for my driving license. I went out of what I usually do (which is assume the way to place and process etc) and asked people around me even the silly questions. I made 2 new friends and the day went alot easier than it would have if I had kept quiet. Idk why I'm telling this. Felt like I had to share with someone.
Literally this week, I was heavily stressed out by exams, then my father died and add to that I need to handle family stuff. I also need to resolve some issues with immigration.
I left my comfort zone and now I’m an on call babysitter of 3 lovely boys. It’s tough but it feels nice getting back into my comfort zone when I’m done ‘working’

I'd argue it to be the current one. If you screw that up, you may never make it to the next. Worry about now. Later will come eventually and you can worry about it when it becomes now. Have plans, but don't stress if they falter. Just make new plans.
I once read that one thing that many very successful people have in common is that everyday, they make it a point to do one thing they don't want to do. No matter how trivial it is, from washing dishes, making your bed to working out etc. It builds your tolerance to the uncomfortable. And quite literally helps you become comfortable with being outside of your comfortable zone.
Today mine was signing my new job contract after a year of job hunting and unemployment ^^ it's been a very rocky road but at least it lead to somewhere!
This reminds me of the [Heroes Journey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero%27s_journey), or the [Land of Meaning Explorer](https://www.fbresciano.com/explorer/). Stepping out of the known into the unknown / status quo, learning more, expanding in ability, realizing you have potential for more than you thought you could do
After a few years doing this you’ll see how much your comfort zone has gotten bigger.
Please be gentle to yourself, that won’t happen in a couple of days, it takes a good time, disposition and lots of courage.
And also, after all that improvement, take some time and see how you are now a better version of yourself.

Good luck!
Every time you venture out it’s a little bigger when you return Edit: how did a comment I made while half asleep get 200 upvotes
I don’t know why but this sentence hit me in a very special way. Thank you.
I relate to this HARD
Me too

I would love to see that version.

I love this, the continuing to scream on the way back to the comfort zone is cracking me up
Have you ever been forced to be out of your comfort zone over a week and literally break down because of it?
Literally this week, I was heavily stressed out by exams, then my father died and add to that I need to handle family stuff. I also need to resolve some issues with immigration.
Threw me off and I had a hard time sleeping now.
Excellent
I went to get my hair cut today and that's how I felt lol

For some reason I can hear the"Ahhhhhhh" in Peter Griffin's voice and not mine. I must be Peter Griffin.
This is me grocery shopping in the COVID era

Remember: the most important step is always the next one.

My agoraphobic ass doing any task outside my house.

Introverts aspiring to be Varrick
I'm doing a thing tomorrow, and that's exactly how I think it's gonna feel
Yesh 🐻❤

My morning routine
And that’s enough
Today mine was signing my new job contract after a year of job hunting and unemployment ^^ it's been a very rocky road but at least it lead to somewhere!
Zhu li do the thing.
This hit me right in the mental health.
this kind of motivates me to do it too.
Full scorpion nice
How I feel every time I leave the house during COVID to run an errand
ABSOLUTLY, 100% ME!
Er mah gawd, I feel this soooooo much right now.
Half the time I don’t make it back to the square
If there was someone I stanned, it would be invisible bread. Kept me entertained for hours man

My comfort zone is do nothing so this works well
They missed the panel between the first and second one where I spend hours psyching myself up to do the thing.
This is the most realistic interpretation of leaving my comfort zone I think I’ve ever seen
Way to stick the landing 👍
As an Introvert i can relate
It's sadly not always that easy to do only thing for the day
Αs an introvert, I'm forced to spend nearly all day out of my comfort zone. You dont get used to it, every second hurts, but you cant give up!
Too bad society wants me to do at least 10 things a day (:
The trick is to make the comfort zone so large, that you can easily do everything in there
First shower in a while, huh?
No NO, Don't touch me their. \*Sword is unsheathed\* ***YOU have touched the almighty NO NO SQUAAAAAR!!!!!***
