It would take an act of the #GQP God, to whom all Republicans worship. Until Trump speaks, they will cower in fear, supplicants on their shaking knees, praying to kiss the ring.

We could start by revoking the passport of one Rupert Murdoch. What he's doing to this country through Fox News amounts to a propaganda war. He's an enemy of the country, democracy, and truth, IMHO and should be banned for life. Fox News is the poster child for getting rid of the fairness doctrine (and Rush Limbaugh, may be rot in peace).

That is simply not true. There may be bias with all networks, but there's nothing that compares to the misinformation, hate and flat-out lies that comes from the Fox propaganda channel. Try watching them all for an hour in primetime and see for yourself.

Great post. Thank you. This is a great example of the nature of our piecemeal "healthcare" system where every action exists without context, and it's left to us, the patients, to connect the dots. This happens with specialists all the time. But shame on CVS for this, as they are playing a major role in COVID vaccine distribution.

I'm trying to think of a bill that Republican have introduced that did anything other than: 1) Benefit the rich / corps 2) reduce voting rights 3) foment hatred of "others" Between them and FOX, we have a real problem in this country. Then add #MAGA and it's damned scary how evil these folks truly are.

Agreed. But I'm on the hunt for outliers. Which facilities had the highest death rates? I'm thinking that if there are significant differences, perhaps that's indicative, if not "accurate".

Yes, you're correct about the beds being re-filled, so there's a flaw in the data available, but if we assume all homes are refilling proportionately, then perhaps as a comparative stat, at least the outliers would be visible. This might be why they're not publishing it. It's not normalized. Anyway, thanks for the link. I'll see what's there and if it's usable, subject to the caveats.

And here I thought Republicans fixed all that power grid stuff during Trump Infrastructure Week. Oh wait....Trump/Cruz/Abbott never did that, and certainly not in TX It's the Green New Deal that caused this power disaster! Oh, wait....it's just an IDEA, so Abbot/Cruz can't blame that But telling people not to go out in the deadly frigid weather for safety reasons? Oh wait...masks mandates are an infringement of their rights-Cruz/Abbott But at least now, the Federal Gov't is actually helping Texans, irrespective of their leaders' intransigence. Someday, science, truth, honor and facts will penetrate the brains of more of our elected leaders. Or we will have voted in better leaders. Until then, sadly, this is what you get - denial and failure to lead.

Trump's attorneys are willing enablers of bad or seditious policy by the Republicans. They have a choice to participate or not. They willfully engaged in Trump's fraudulent attempts. IMHO they should be held accountable, professionally, if not also as citizens attempting to overthrow a duly-elected government.

I have never understood the nonsense that creates bills like this. Arms, a new FBI headquarters (to benefit Trump), etc. have no business being in a bill that is, by its very nature, an emergency measure. Both parties do it, but the Republicans do it to benefit corporations and profit, and NEVER the people.
