The problem is that indoctrination by the white supremacist channel Fox News is so common and pervasive that people think they are opinions that must be tolerated. There is no reason to ever tolerate white supremacy, no matter how common the talking points are. There is no reason not to call white supremacy what it is just because people get offended when you tell the truth about Fox News. It is up to normal, everyday people to draw a clear line and to say: You may honestly believe in your inhuman, racist nonsense, but you may not repeat this nonsense here. This place requires a modicum of common decency. It is the only way to fight back. It starts with not allowing this shit to be normalised.

It is *only* done to dehumanise. It is hard to describe how utterly revolting this tactic is. It should go against the very core of someones morality. People should feel in their bones that saying something like that is unacceptable.

Time to ban some psychopaths. ----------------------------------------------- There is one lie that is repeated ad nauseum in this thread that I am going to adress here: "He was not calling for his mother, he was calling for his girlfriend named momma" The reason why this lie is so pernicious, so odious and revoltingly abject is that it is a deliberate attempt to dehumanise a person. It is a lie told in bad faith. It is a lie which very deliberately attempts to remove compassion for a murder victim by pretending that people in great distress, who know they are close to death, do not call out for their mothers. Or, that Mr. Floyd did not call out for his mother because he was a "bad man". Instead of course the objective and undeniable truth backed by centuries of data is that people close to death who are in great distress do call for their mothers. They call for their mothers because at the time of their death, when their death is not a peaceful one the human mind harks back to the earliest memories of love and safety, to the most primal instincts a person has with regards to feeling secure and safe. This lie is vicious. To tell this lie is an attempt to take away the most fundamental aspects of humanity, the foundation of empathy we all should have for other people. This is your brain on Fox News and I do pity the people that have been indoctrinated to the degree that they think a morally repugnant, obvious lie is any kind of "gotcha" statement which should remove sympathy people feel for a murder victim. It goes without saying that anyone who tells this lie may not appeal their ban.

Lotta extreme right people that think calls for violence must be allowed "or else it is censorship" are about to get banned. These social media terms of services are very lenient. You do not have a right to print hatespeech. If your "political ideas" consist of racism and calls for murder then, guess what, you have chosen poorly. How do you like that censorship.

Your best bet is to reload a save from before you turned the quest in. I recently did this quest and it is possible to get both rewards. What I did was I put the potion in the secure chest, turned in the quest with the option to return her potion. She gave me the skull and before she finished talking I took the potion out of the chest and drank it.

I loved that issue. I've read Marvel comics for 35 years and this was the first time ever I empathised with Samuel Sterns. Importantly, the story made me empathise with him without redeeming him in any way. Still the same old bastard, but this time I felt I understood where he was coming from.

"Wrong" is maybe too harsh a word to use. "Incomplete" might be better, or "unrefined". Take for example Newton's laws of gravity. They work and are accurate for most purposes the average layman will ever need them for and certainly give you a grasp of the fundamentals of the principles. Only when you deal with very high energy, very high speeds or otherwise uncommon conditions do they fail and then you need Einstein's equations to correctly model the behaviour of the natural world. One model builds on the other. Understanding what came before is a good way to help guide the understanding of later scientific discoveries.

A Y chromosome is not a gene, it is a gene-plex, a collection of genes. The Y chromosome is also recessive, not dominant, although that is not really the correct term to use. If a recessive gene is present on the X chromosome but not on the Y it is often expressed in the organism despite being recessive, because the Y chromosome is trunctuated and many genes that exist on the X chromosome have no corresponding one present on the Y. This is why men are more vulnerable to hereditary diseases. If a faulty gene is present on one X chromosome then in females a correct version may exist on the other X chromosome. In males that faulty gene is often the only one of its kind present in the organism.

Absolutely. Our minds are very powerful pattern-recognition machines. To the extent that we often see patterns that are not there. Shapes in clouds. Faces in wood grain. Consciousness after all is a heuristic pattern recognition feedback loop. A pattern recognition machine that has recognised itself as a persistent pattern. This allows us to navigate our environment in a way that enhances our surivival chances. But it does not mean that the patterns we impose on reality are reality itself.

It is the most common courtesy and the most basic form of social grace to recognise someones identity. It is a societal faux-pas of the highest order to accidentally misgender someone. Doing so at a dinner party is excruciatingly embarassing. It is normal and an everyday part of our society and it has been so for centuries upon centuries to not deliberately call miss Jones a mr, especially not to her face. That the extreme right takes positive glee in deliberate refusal to follow the most basic mores of societal politeness says something fundamental about them. It does not say anything about transgender or gender non-conforming people. It says something about *them*. It says that they are deliberately unwilling to participate in society in a way that has been seen as de rigeur and common etiquette since forever. Transgender women are women. Anyone that refuses to acknowledge this is boorishly deviant and degenerate.

Correct. Clear demarcations are an artefact of the way the human mind has evolved to make sense of its surroundings. For survival reasons it is imperative that our mind can look at a bit of veld and instantly see "lion" or "not-lion". Nature does not and cannot work like that. Everything evolved, everything mutates, everything is fluid. In a very literal sense, humans are fish. In a very literal sense, ants are a type of wasp. In a very literal sense, males are deformed females. It is useful, practical and necessary for humans to categorise and to delineate between one thing and the next. To distinguish between ant and wasp, to understand the route fish took to become humans. Being able to do so has allowed us to build our civilisation with all its advances. But all these constructs are man-made. They are models we impose on reality, it is not reality itself. The map is not the country.

Gender refers to the social construct related to and derived from, but not synonymous with sex. The word gender originally was only used in linguistics, to refer to the article of a noun. It was co-opted into biology and psychology when a term was required for these social roles. Gender and gender roles vary from place to place and time. What is considered male in one culture is seen as female in the other, or it switches, or it becomes acceptable for both. Many cultures throughout history have recognised a third or multiple genders. A strict gender binary is mainly a construct of cultures inculcated in Abrahamic religious tradition. In ancient Egypt make-up was seen as for males. High heels were first worn by males, at the court of Louis the Sun King. The colour blue used to be associated with girls, pink with boys. Children of all genders used to wear skirts and dresses. These are all cultural expressions which are not rigidly associated with one gender role, but fluid and mutative. The Indian subcontinent has a tradition of Hijras, people who do not identify as male or female. Oceanic and First Nation people know two-spirits and other non-Abrahamic gender expressions. A female could choose to live as a male, be a hunter/ warrior and take a wife and so on. There are many, many such examples to the point where it is not unreasonable to say that a rigid gender binary is a relatively modern social construct. People are and always have been diverse. Transgender people and people who for a variety of reasons do not fit binaries have always existed. Biology and psychology indicate that these are normal and healthy variances. Evolutionary speaking there is a clear advantage in allowing members of the group to be fluid in what roles they take. There is a clear advantage in non-reproducing adults taking care of members of the group, in non-rigid adoption of in-group roles. What is healthy for the species must always be seen on the group level. My favorite example of that is the ant. By far the majority of all ants never reproduce. Only the queen lays eggs. Yet ants are everywhere, because all ants take care of the nest.

Please remember to report bigots who think they know facts better than geneticists do, so we can ban them. Human sexuality is not solely determined by chromosomes. That would be an overly reductionist statement which ignores environmental factors, genetic variance, neuropsychology, epigenetics and other factors. The fact is that highschool science is often deliberately incomplete and not a good way to determine reality. What we are taught as children is meant to be the basis, the foundation for future knowledge. You have to learn Rutherford's "solar system" model of atomic structure so that when in college you can learn why that is *wrong* and replace it with the probabilistic model of quantum mechanics. Similarly, the view that "XX = female, XY is male is deliberately oversimplistic. The basis from which you learn to adapt and refine when you study the matter in more detail.

A revolting part for me is that now that they have lost the fight to make gay people a boogeyman they are going after transgender women. People who are even more vulnerable and marginalised, children often, are now getting so much hate and so much laws that are solely meant to harm them that it beggars belief. And they code it in the same language as always. They lie and pretend that they are concerned about children. They lie and pretend they care about women in sports. All they do is lie and poison peoples minds and it is a disgrace. You can't even go on reddit without seeing people honestly believing in abject disinformation that makes them want to deny lifesaving healthcare to trans children and makes them want to disallow trans children participating in society.

The Olympic Medical Committee after a thorough review decided to allow transgender women to compete in the Olympics since 2004. If the bigoted narrative was even close to factually correct then we would have seen trans women win if not the majority then at least a sizable amount of gold medals and broken records. We have seen nothing of the sort. On average trans women slightly underperform compared to cis women in the same category, because hormone replacement therapy affects all physiological systems and because hormone replacement therapy reduces trans women's testosterone levels to below the average amount for that of a cis woman. Medical doctors, experts in the field of sports medicine, ruled close to 20 years ago that allowing transgender women to compete in high level competitive sports would not grant them an unfair advantage. Bigots do not know more than experts do.

Where would you like me to start? I can start with the nonsense "D&D is satanic" of the 1980s and work my way up to the nonsense of "yoga is satanic" of the 2010s. I could point out the nonsense "No, don't do free market like that" of the dr. Seuss manufactured controvesy or the "No, don't do free market like that" when a coffee cup said Happy Holidays. The extreme right invented cancel culture, wallows in cancel culture, weaponises cancel culture and very literally every single little thing they accuse normal and decent people of doing they actually do themselves ten times worse.

Fox News literally has segments railing against Sesame Street because it "teaches socialism". This is how you can know that these people are on a fundamental level simply evil. Take a topic, any topic at all and the GOP will be loudly clamoring for the abject, destructive, inhumane position on it. It's a fun and depressing game to play. Just take a topic and I guarantee you that the conservative view on it is that evil must prevail. Climate change? Let them pollute! Workers rights? Down with unions! Police brutality? It's counter-intuitive, but your answer is incorrect. The speed of light is an absolute. It is the maximum speed in this universe. Distance and time and expressions of the same phenomenon. At lightspeed the time spent is zero. You cannot have a negative amount of time, therefore in your example the relative speed between your two objects would be lightspeed. Thank you for your reply! Mind, this bug does not affect me. But it does affect people I know. There is a difference between large, active subreddits and tiny labour of love subreddits. For example, I moderate r/Toriamos, she is my favorite singer. The subreddit has less than 5k subscribers as she is mainly a "90s phenomenon. The modmail there is basically non-existent. On the other hand, the modmail for r/cats is neverending. So it is not the number of subreddits that determines how busy a moderator potentially is with modmail, it is the number of large, active subreddits. But this bug applies to character limit and would also cripple a moderator who only has a dozen active modmail subreddits. Secondly, people do delegate. There are mods who do modmail, there are mods who focus on comments, or on automation. Most of the moderators on the website who moderate a large amount of subreddits have a specialisation like that. They do not tend to do the entire package. The largest moderator on the site does virtually no actual moderation. He builds and maintains bots. The second largest is a community outreach specialist.
